A good restaurant to try Swedish cakes, in a no nonsense way. I love the Princess cake. The Budapest cake is pretty good as well. However for a Swedish cafe, the coffee leaves much to be desired for. The service is pleasant enough, and it had a charming outdoor seating area.

This was a few doors down from our hotel, so it became a go-to in order to try various Swedish pastries & cakes. The quality is excellent, and the prices are about what you'd expect at any cafe in Stockholm. The lingonberry layer cake was especially good, as were the cinnamon rolls! The location is also good if you are... More

This beautiful-beyond-words cafe is frozen in time. Great location (walking distance from central station), old world furniture, cat paintings and sculptures, friendly staff.. they have it all. Room after room prepped for traditional tea service or fika. It is as if someone from the 1920's will walk right in. There is also an outdoor sitting area with white picket fences... More

When in Sweden, one of the most important things to do is to take a (or several) fika. There are several different definitions of fika, but mostly it's a cup of coffee, tea or a soda AND something to chew to go with the drink. The most original fika is a cinnamon roll and a choclate ball, and it's fine... More

Great place any time of the day. Good coffee and wonderful bread and pastries. For breakfast they have a "kaffe o fralla" special which is very good value.

Great place to have lunch or fika - the Swedish word for coffee break. Very traditional. Endless coffee and pots of tea. Go up to the window behind the coffee table to ask for your pot of tea. Be aware there are several entrances for this place on different streets. Either cozy rooms inside or outside there is a garden... More

I try to come here every time I´m in Stockholm, it´s like coming to grandma´s place. Great swedish bullar and the best fastlagsbulle in town.

I found it by accident. One has to pass through an arcade to find this shop. It has two entrances, one from the main road and the other from Gamla Brogatan, the parallel road, which leads to the garden. It has a very nice atmosphere, the pastries were delicious and the staf very friendly. The major disadvantage is that they... More

This is the typical place that comes to my mind when I am asked for a retro café. This is vintage-looking and stylish, very swedish also. The location is great and it is really cheap given quality and location. Workers are always helpful and smiley even though the place is normally crowded. And yes, food quality is very impressive, from... More
