My husband and I were looking for a relaxing place with great food and sidewalk seating and found the perfect match in Fem Sma Hus in Gamla Stan in the shadow of the statue of Saint George slaying the dragon. My husband had the fillet of reindeer perfectly cooked and not a bit gamey with a potato and parsnip puree... More

We went to that restaurant one marked as the best swedish restaurant in stockholm. After 5 minutes of waiting we take our seat outside (all the inside table where booked). Table where really narrow one with the other and seat were really closed togheter. IR lamp where so near that created diseases. Unfortunately it start to rain and since the... More

The restaurant itself is lovely but the food was disappointing. The bread basket was full of what I can only describe as Wonder bread. The steak I had was a bit stringy and the potatoes bland. I felt it was overpriced for what I received.

The restaurant is located in Old Town just steps away from the Royal Palace. The name translates roughly 'Five Small Houses' and it's composed of the street floors and basements of five row houses. We entered on an upper level and moved through a succession of stairways and dining rooms into the cellars which were vaulted and absolutely charming. The... More

I hate giving mediocre reviews but I felt, although it was recommended fellow travellers, that it would be exceptional. It wasn't. I can see the appeal because it's the cellars of 5 small houses (English translation) and if it was busy (it wasn't) and you were in a big party it would be fun. The food was OK but it... More

Service and food was excellent. I had the there course meal of the day which included the best egg salad I've ever had. The wines paired with the food were very good. Charming area in the old city.

Our concierge at the Grand Hotel recommended this place. It is actually five old small house basements in Gamla Stan and is very quaint. We were looking for some authentic Swedish dishes and we were not disappointed. Make sure to get the herring appetizer with five different marinated herrings and cheese. For dinner I had the Char and it is... More

Dinner at Fem Sma Hus in Gamla Stan was wonderful and we would definitely go back. The name means "Five Small Houses" because it is housed in a very old property that centuries ago was a row of five little residences. On a busy night, our reservations from "Book a Table" worked out well. We were ushered to an intimate,... More

We arrived without a reservation and since the interior was full we were immediately seated on the small patio. We both ordered two appetizers and no main course. They were all well prepared, well seasoned and well served. The server made sure we always had water and bread as well. Would definitely recommend.

This is our first visit to Stockholm and, after touring and enjoying the old city, we wanted a genuine Swedish meal. The front desk recommended this one and after seeing that it was #10 out of almost 2,000 restaurants we decided to go. Located in the old part of the city, we were escorted down several levels to one of... More
