Description: The square in Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town, where Rodolfino is...
The square in Gamla Stan, Stockholm's old town, where Rodolfino is situated, has seen a number of changes down the years. Once upon a time, this was one of Stockholm's major meeting places. This is where Carl Christoffer Gjörwell (1731-1781) had his bookshop and it was full of coffee houses and restaurants. There was a boisterous street life and the square was the scene of many historic events. These days, life on the square is considerably quieter, which suits Rodolfino perfectly, since the restaurant aims to offer guests a relaxing experience. The kitchen prepares Italian food, with a range of pasta, meat and fish dishes, as well as a number of examples of Sweden's home cooking tradition.

Great location just around the corner from the Royal Palace. Friendly staff. The food does what it's supposed to do: fills your stomach and tastes pretty good. Gluten-free pizzas and other gluten-free options were plenty to choose from.

Had dinner with two persons. Both had a pizza (really simple but not expensive) and we shared a dessert (tiramisu was fine!). Personnel was quite busy, the owner gave it a personal touch but the other employees did not. Was ok but not very special!

...is not worth waisting your money on if you don't just expect average or under. I work nearby and have been to this restaurant a couple of times during lunch and the last couple of years avoid it as much as possible. Looks nice in the afternoons when the weather is nice. People sitting outside having a drink, but that... More

Atmosphere was pleasant and waiter guys were nice. Unfortunately pizza was not too tasty and one female waitress was "rude" enough to ruin overall vibes. I'll not make another visit to this restaurant, but 10 points for waiter guys still!

They have a sign that advertises them as "the only "real" Italian restaurant in Old town". The feel continues as you dine and are served. These folks are funny which only adds to the atmosphere. I was looking for Italian as I wanted to shift from Swedish for at least one meal. They did not disappoint - really good Italian... More

My sister and I took the subway to Gamla Stan, and after walking in the rain for a while we were looking for somewhere to eat and dry off. We saw Roldofino and decided to try our luck there. We felt a little under dressed for this nice place, as many members of the Stockholm's business community were there, but... More

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
