Very nice hot pot!

Tired the signature dish of Formosa, the Chinese hotpot with extra seafood, and the whole company got really satisfied. Unfortunately the selection of beers are poor, and the tap beers was served totally without head. So, drink wine and enjoy the hotpot!

This is a great place for Asian food. Buy from the menu! It's authentic and nice staff. Don't miss the hot pot.

I have been to Formosa at least three times, and I have not tried the Swedified versions of Chinese food. However, the Chinese dishes are excellent. Try the hot pot, or why not the ma po doufu. Formosa has quickly become one of my favourite Chinese restaurants in Stockholm. Well-cooked Sichuan food that does not shy away from Sichuan peppar... More

Visited with my partner and had a nice meal here - tasty and generous servings. Enjoyed good, unassuming service and colourful decor.

I have gone here for lunch a few times. The food is very average and the selection isn't that extensive. There is some salad, fruit, a few sushi options and then some standard Chinese dishes (beef with vegetables, spring rolls, rice, etc.) to choose from. The price is pretty good for the location (95SEK). If you're looking for something simple,... More

As a Tour Leader, I brought our group of six couples and a tour guide to Formosa for lunch upon the recommendation of our Tour Operator last 19 August 2015. Our group was led to a round table for 12 and the two others to a separate table. There was a buffet set up adjacent to our table. I inquired... More

This one has a good selection of Asian food, hard to pinpoint to Chinese. The staff was effective and polite and with a lot of Asian customers we assumed it to be good. And it was, big portions with good prices just what we needed for a late lunch. The location is a small block away from the buzzing main... More

Very nice food, good service and reasonable price level. Too many asian restaurants adapts their dishes to a spice level ment for non-asians, but Formosa is an exception. Recommended if you like genuine asian food.

Staying in Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen

Neighborhood Profile
Gamla Stan & Riddarholmen
Gamla Stan is Stockholm’s historic old town and home to the Swedish Royal Palace. It’s the most central island of Stockholm and accompanied by the small island of Riddarholmen, mainly known for its famous Riddarholm Church. Gamla Stan tends to be a bit touristy at times but is definitely worth visiting: take a stroll past the well-preserved buildings and through the small (and also Sweden’s narrowest) alleys, which will make you feel like you’ve travelled back in time. This neighborhood offers a great combination of historical buildings and traditional Swedish restaurants.
