Best indoor market in town, get fresh fish, meat, cheese and vegetables here and cook a lovely dinner at home or have a coffee or lunch here on a rainy day.

After a long search we managed to get to it. The Hall is really beautiful with good ambiance. We finished at Tysta Mary having salmon and a good beer. Average quality, a tad overpriced but nevertheless a nice experience.

Positives: if you are a foodie, you will appreciate some of the offerings, especially if you are not from the area; a lot of the restaurants have menus in English which is very helpful; very well kept and clean; if you do not want to eat in the market itself, there are lots of car-free streets nearby with patios Cons:... A good foodhall, so much cheese and fish which was amazing to see if your foodie person. It was quiet when we went which was nice. We didn't have any food but we sat and had a coffee and just watched everyone go about their business.

The market is definitely worth a visit. You can find excellent food, but it won't be cheap. The brick building is a fantastic setting. There are some restaurants where you can eat or take-away. Great if you prefer a tasty meal over over a comfort seating. It can be quite crowded. Serve very good traditional Swedish meals.

The fish section is very good. The food is mostly fine and can be bought as take-away. As others have mentioned, it is quite crowded creating its own problems. Charming building but we have seen bigger and with a better selection - even in Helsinki a few days ago, and our own home-town of Melbourne Australia.

....indoor market with everything in food. After you've worked up yourself an appetite with your eyes and nose, stop and have some lunch, pick up goodies for a picnic or plan a nice dinner or just get their for breakfast with the wonderful Swedish pastries and a nice strong cup of coffee. A must in Stockholm !

The Ostermalms Saluhall is a nicely restored old brick market place. (Closed on Sundays). It is just up the hill from Stureplan and has a T (Metro) stop right by it. Gourmet food to buy and to eat. Many choices. The fish is amazing to look at and the smoked salmon fantastic. Mosey up for breakfast or at midday and... More
