From market trader to purveyor to His Majesty the King. It all began in the early 1920s. Fisherman's daughter Lisa Elmqvist traded her wares at a street market by the waterfront, and customers quickly flocked to her stall. Her fish, shellfish and cookery skills were of such a high standard that she swiftly moved up to Ostermalms Saluhall - the perfect place to allow her ability to shine through. Today, almost 90 years later, the fourth generation of the Elmqvist family continues her work assiduously from the same stall, gaining more and more experience and ambitions. The restaurant has recommendations in Guide Michelin for the last 9 years in a row.

One of the top restaurants in Sweden

We didn't eat at Lisa Elmqvist because we were still a bit full from our breakfast when we went to Ostermalms Saluhall, but it looked very inviting and the food did smell great.

Best to book, otherwise likely to need to queue. Excellent food quality, quite expensive for a market hall (but it is Stockholm), cramped seating, can feel a little rushed by waiting staff. Great if you like a very popular venue with a lively atmosphere. Great for a treat now and then.

Stunning place to indulge in a seafood fest. Amazing freshness and good choice of different items. Work up an appetite by walking around the market before hand. Then enjoy the amazing produce and drink in the atmosphere. You may end up at a table with complete strangers and that makes it lots of fun. Or maybe we were lucky with... More

This is the place that is not what it seems on the first sight. It seems to be almost a food stand, but it is a Restaurant in the true sense of the word with a capital letter. It is a bit too simple from the first glance, but this impression does not last too long. Just till the food... More

Lisa Elmqvist is one of our favorite places in Stockholm with great food and atmosphere. We had a nice lunch with delicious salmon and clams. Service could however be friendlier.

This very busy upscale lunch restaurant, in a food stall market is really worth a visit, but make a reservation! The tables are jammed together, so don't expect cozy, but hey, it's lunch time! Our sever was very friendly and efficient. The food is geared to fish, and it is simply prepared and very fresh! We split the shrimp on... More

Lisa Elmqvist is in Ostermalm Saluhall, a food stall market deluxe.A revisit to this restaurant was worth the wait. The herring platter was super. We have always had outstanding fresh Swedish seafood here. Nothing fancy, an open restaurant in the indoor market, The staff knows their business about seafood so ask them if you have questions. Then, if you can, stop... More

This is a simple restaurant at Saluhall market but with really solid options on the menu. I had the fried perch filet with champignon cream which was delicious. Although it was super full and we had to wait in line for over half an hour for a table, it was worth the visit. Very friendly staff.

I went to this restaurant after reading a few reviews and recommendation from our hotel concierge. It was such a great disappointment, the service was horrible. The server was rude, may be she was experperiencing some personal trauma. She had a long face and did not say thank you after we paid. The food was really average and way over... More
