Description: From market trader to purveyor to His Majesty the King. It all began in...
From market trader to purveyor to His Majesty the King. It all began in the early 1920s. Fisherman's daughter Lisa Elmqvist traded her wares at a street market by the waterfront, and customers quickly flocked to her stall. Her fish, shellfish and cookery skills were of such a high standard that she swiftly moved up to Ostermalms Saluhall - the perfect place to allow her ability to shine through. Today, almost 90 years later, the fourth generation of the Elmqvist family continues her work assiduously from the same stall, gaining more and more experience and ambitions. The restaurant has recommendations in Guide Michelin for the last 8 years in a row.

Late lunch place

De bäste... It just does not get better than this if you come at 3...4 pm for a late lunch. Cosy market hall athmosphere and smart & pretty people all around you. Sea food is fresh, well made and nicely served. Having a glass of Chablis or a bärs is a crown to late lunch.

this was a lovely lunch in a great setting, in the middle of the Saluhall market in Östermalm. The food was fresh and very tasty, but it was expensive, even for Stockholm!

Starving after a long slog from the airport into town, we stumbled across Lisa Elmqvist and had one of the best lunches I've ever had. I had the prawns alexandria, which were superb. The service was friendly and fast, and the atmosphere intimate even thought it was in the market- they do a good job of tucking patrons away from... More

In the middle of the crowded and busy central market is this tidy seafood oasis. A great place to take a break and have some super fresh seafood. Although they were out of several items on the special board it was late in the day, so sort of expected. Service was a bit brusk. The food is the star.. super... More

A wonderful sea food restaurant in an indoor market. As good fish as you'll get anywhere. Delightful unpretentious atmosphere and reasonable prices.

The restaurant is located at the "city market" and serves a large variety of fish and seafood. It's open for brunch to early dinner. We were there for brunch and ordered the "gourmet platter" and a selection of herrings. Both of them were very good and the fish were very fresh. It's an expensive place but the quality is very... We came here for lunch and we were not disappointed! Very fresh seafood and friendly staff. I had the "toast skagen", best I've ever had. We were a party of four and we all left very satisfied. Only downside would be the queue for the table.

Visited upon a recommendation of a local colleague who insisted we choose this place and not any other for our lunch. Three observations: Ever wanted the freshest seafood? It's your place. Ever wanted a champagne list that makes you break the resolution not to drink? It's your place. Ever wanted to find out what's so great about the slightly reserved... More
