Enjoyable

Visited Pelikan with friends on a Sunday whilst on holiday in Stockholm. The food was authentic, of good quality and very tasty. The staff we very accommodating and there was a great atmosphere in the place. Overall 998 sek for four main courses and drinks was reasonable. Will return when I'm next... read more

On our last night in Stockholm we wanted to taste traditional Swedish food!! The previous two nights, as we'd toured around until dark, for convenience, we'd dined near our hotel so had Italian and Thai !!! The staff at our hotel recommended this place. We had charcuterie board to share for starters which had lots of different meats and then... More

We went for dinner at Pelikan Saturday night. No complaints regarding the food perse in fact, it was excellent. We did however have a TERRIBLE experience with service. The food took extra long to get to the table we were the 3rd table to arrive for dinner and 5 tables that arrived after us had already been served and turned... More

We tried to go for drinks before heading over across the bridge to the hockey game. It was a Monday so the bar portion did not open until 5pm. The restaurant side was still very accommodating and allowed us to sit and order drinks. Bartender was very helpful in giving us local beer suggestions and even helping us translate an... More

Longing for some traditional Swedish cooking? Well, this is the place! Arrive hungry; order sill, snaps and a beer as a starter, then move on to any of the mains. This is one of Stockholms oldest establishments and the environment is well preserved and simply gorgeous. Take a special look at the ceiling. The restaurant is busy and gets noisy,... More

This is a good place that does not change it seems. Have been there many times over the years and you can always find favorite dishes with good quality. For visitors to Stockholm this is a good place to see even though it seems to have more tourists than locals at certain times in recent years. A good place to... More

Amongst high ceilings, wooden tables with dripping candles, and plenty of seating, Pelikan is a solid "must-try" when you are in Stockholm. Be aware of the beer selection in Stockholm (if you are looking to escape the States), Brooklyn Brewery has a strong presence and comes under different labels. Ask for something local if you aren't sure. Order some aquavit... More

The food was excellent. It's a restaurant in a large, high- ceilinged room, with a lot of tables packed in, so could be a bit noisy, but overall would recommend

So, so delicious and comforting on a cold Stockholm night. The salmon pudding and grilled reindeer are among the best Swedish food options in Stockholm, and the ambience is nice, too. Will definitely return, and would certainly recommend to anyone visiting Stockholm!

What a great dining experience. We had the meatballs twice during our visit to Stockholm. We were referred by a local so we knew we were in for a treat. Great food and great service.

Staying in SoFo & Medborgarplatsen

Neighborhood Profile
SoFo & Medborgarplatsen
Throughout the last decades these neighborhoods transformed from a rather quiet residential area into the birthplace of Swedish hipsterism and became Sweden’s main hub for new fashion labels, independent coffee shops and innovative gastropub concepts. Despite their extreme transformation, SoFo (South of Folkungagatan) & Medborgarplatsen managed to hold on to their residential charm and quietness and became one of the most sought-after places to live among young people in Stockholm. This neighborhood is also home to Sweden’s highest student hall, Skrapan, which used to be the head office of the tax authorities and now combines a mix of student hall and shopping mall with a bar on top.
