hi this restaurant is divided into two with one side bar focused and the other a sit down restaurant. The atmosphere is good, the decor pleasant, (a lot of wood!) and the menu solid and very Swedish. But the food is bland, the meat over cooked and the beer and wine selection mediocre. Come here for the Herring and the... More

On the island of Södermalm, there are two genuine restaurants, Kvarnen and Pelikan, that one has to visit. Pelikan was founded in the 30ties and has not changed a lot regarding the interior. Traditional Swedish food is served here, and most of the dishes are quite good. Please try the herrings and the salmon, which I appreciate a lot. If... More

I visited this place during my week end. The place have a huge dining room, very casual, with a wood table and chairs. I remember i ordered a really nice meatballs, juice and rich in taste; i even ordered a pork knee served with different mustard. as starter i ordered a sardine and potato salad and taste good as well.... Good and fun enviroment if you like to sip a beer or two. Anyhow the food is lacking inspiration and is relative expensive if you compare to others restaurants for the same type of food.

Lovely food, separate bar too if you want a drink before you eat. Good menu choice and staff work hard!

A true Stockholm classic and great place to try traditional Swedish food. One of the places I take colleagues from abroad. As mentioned elsewhere they do excellent, and massive, meatballs, but the rest of the menu stacks up very well. Since it's an old beerhall be prepared that the soundlevel can be quite high at times. Value for money is hard... More

I ordered Swedish meatballs, Swedish hash (so filling!), and the herring. I also accompanied my food with Aquavit. Apparently, the herring and the aquavit go hand in hand...so when in Rome, err Stockholm... The place had a nice atmosphere, and it was cool looking (I think it may have been an old bank). One of the waitresses was particularly friendly... More

This restaurant ticked all the boxes. Good, friendly service and lovely traditional Swedish food although not the greatest choice for a vegetarian - luckily I eat fish. Try the aquavit which comes in a lovely little bowl of ice.

Dining i Stockholm can be expensive. Sometimes it's worth the price – sometimes not. Originaly Pelikan was a simple restaurant catering blue collar workers. And even if the meny still is much the same, the pricing is far than modest. Especially if you compare to other restaurants in the hoods. If you want to indulge your lust for real swedish... More
