Took my wife while visiting Stockholm, per recommendation from a guy who worked at our hotel (not a concierge type, more a local). We had spent the past couple of nights in Old Town (Gamla Stan) and wanted to explore more of the local area away from tourists. I must add though, having traveled a number of countries and areas... Traditional and authentic swedish restaurant to visit. Great food, low-structured dishes. Nice atmosphere (similar to a beerhall). Good service, even if a little slow. Quite pricey, as expected in Sweden. To be reserved in advance. Suggested!

We (3 people) visited on our first night in Stockholm (a Friday between Xmas and New Year) having done our Trip Advisor research- we wanted authentic cuisine, unique architecture and a nice atmosphere. We certainly got all of those, and we were lucky enough to be seated immediately upon walking in, with no reservation, on what was evidently a very... More

I visit Pelikan every time I visit Stockholm, and I invite my friends to join me for dinner at this traditional restaurant at Blekingegatan.

I went to this traditional restaurant with a Swedish friend who says it used to be a noisy low class pub. So do not expect high quality fine dining type food. But if you're looking for an authentic Swedish cuisine I think this is the right place. I got the meatballs and lingonberries which was fantastic. But we met some... More

I love the Swedish meatball with the mashed potato, which is the best dish i have never had before. However, I did not like the Christmas Juice which taste like coca, and it is very expensive@@

hi this restaurant is divided into two with one side bar focused and the other a sit down restaurant. The atmosphere is good, the decor pleasant, (a lot of wood!) and the menu solid and very Swedish. But the food is bland, the meat over cooked and the beer and wine selection mediocre. Come here for the Herring and the... More

On the island of Södermalm, there are two genuine restaurants, Kvarnen and Pelikan, that one has to visit. Pelikan was founded in the 30ties and has not changed a lot regarding the interior. Traditional Swedish food is served here, and most of the dishes are quite good. Please try the herrings and the salmon, which I appreciate a lot. If... More

Good and fun enviroment if you like to sip a beer or two. Anyhow the food is lacking inspiration and is relative expensive if you compare to others restaurants for the same type of food.

Lovely food, separate bar too if you want a drink before you eat. Good menu choice and staff work hard!
