Tasty meatballs in an old tavern

Visited Pelikan yesterday (15.07.2015) and we both had local meatballs which are always delicious and yesterday was no exception. Only downside was that the place opened at 5 p.m although we had made a reservation for 4:15 p.m on their homepage. Somebody had not noticed that they had summer... read more

Atmosphere like German Beerkellar. We had herring platter to share between three of us. Then we had meatballs, reindeer, and cheese/mushroom dumplings. All the food was very tasty and good sized - we couldn't eat everything, particularly as they provide bread and crispbreads. The main course dishes cost between 200sk and 325sk so fairly typical Stockholm. All told a good... More

Stopped here for lunch while in Stockholm on a cruise. We saw the restaurant on Anthony Bourdain TV show and wanted to try authentic Swedish meatballs. Our server was very pleasant. The local beers we tried were bursting with flavor! We each got 4 huge meatballs with whipped potatoes. Not a cheap lunch but so glad we ventured short distance... More

When we got here, we were pleasantly surprised by the beautiful look of the restaurant inside. It looked really great. We all ordered the Swedish meatballs - they were absolutely delicious and so were the side dishes. Staff was very friendly.

Our hotel recommended this old establishment for traditional food and made a reservation. Glad they did as the place was packed by the time we left. The reindeer dinner was delicious and the meatball dinner was very good too.

My wife and I had an early reservation at Pelikan for a Friday evening. The staff were what you would expect of such an establishment, friendly, but a little gruff (that's a good thing!). I had one of the local draft pale ales which was very nice, and we had the tomato salad and charcuterie board to start, followed by... More

I detoured here specially for the recommended meatballs - and wasn't disappointed! The food quality here was very good, service very attentive, and the list of beers (for what is one of the few beer halls left in Stockholm (apparently)) was great. I ate (and would recommend) the Swedish charcuterie, followed by traditional meatballs.

We visited here on the last night of our stay in Stockholm. It's very busy (even mid week), but I don't think you can make reservations. Be prepared to turn up and wait (there is a bar next door!) I had the meatballs which were delicious, and served with beautiful mashed potatoes and lingonberries, whilst my friend opted for Arctic... More
