Must have their meatballs! Huge (bigger than golf balls) and so juicy, served with powdery mash potatoes and preserved lingonberry (not jam). The meatballs alone makes the meal worthwhile. The service is efficient, neither friendly or unfriendly. Beer is expensive. But, overall the setting feel traditional and warm.

The food in Stockholm is first class, from Ethiopia to vietnam and loads of cuisines on top of that. We were having a fantastic meal with some Swedish friends and they said the weird thing is that you can dine around the world in Stockholm but there are very few good traditional Swedish restaurants, well this is the best. The... More

We were lucky to get a table here without booking in advance as it was very busy. The food was very good and perfect if you want to try traditional Swedish food in what I imagine is also a very traditional setting. Great atmosphere and good service. It was the perfect ending to our stay in Stockholm.

The Pelikan is not the usuall restaurant but looks more like a huge market hall. The restaurant goes way back and is the best place to be if you want to try some local Swedish food. I had the boiled knuckle of pork which was delicious. If you are looking for a place that is not overcrowded with tourist, you... More

Local food is good as well as the atmosphere. Service is rather disappointing as they used to tourists, also not cheap. Yet nice experience.

I like to take visitors there to try swedish cuisine. The food and service are good and the price affordable.

The familiar swedish meatballs here were enormous and not particularly special but the setting seemed authentically swedish and the atmosphere and service were both good. My mixed pickled starter was lovely but two friends had a similar starter - all anchovy i think -which disappointed them. Standard Stockholm prices i:e: costly!

We had a very nice evening in the Pelikan. But there should have been some alarm bells ringing with out too friendly italian waiter. Be aware of the question: do you want some snapps? They make it look like its for free. But when you want to pay the bill, they charge you around 30 euro's!!!!!! After a discussion with... More

Really easy to book in online even a few hours before you want to go. The meatballs were really tasty and definitely a million times better than any I've had before. Just watch out for the Aquavit; the price on the menu is by the centilitre so it cost a lot more than we expected. Still this is a great... More
