Really easy to book in online even a few hours before you want to go. The meatballs were really tasty and definitely a million times better than any I've had before. Just watch out for the Aquavit; the price on the menu is by the centilitre so it cost a lot more than we expected. Still this is a great... More

We came here not for drinks, but for dinner, and were looking for Swedish meatballs & some local fish, and definitely enjoyed the food we got! In addition to the meatballs, we ordered a herring sampler. Between the 2 dishes, there was more than enough food for 2 people. The portions are not huge, but in no way were they... More

As we weren't arriving in the City until about 7pm, we had consulted the Lonely Planet and booked The Pelikan as it was highly recommended. It's a large restaurant, very busy, noisy and very hot. The food was pretty good, but took a long time to arrive. The bill was higher than other meals we had later in the trip.... More

We knew of this restaurant via Anthony Bourdain so decided to try it. It was a great adventure for us to get there - it isn't so far exactly but we were across the city so needed to maneuver on foot, tram, and metro. Knowing it would be crowded, we called ahead and asked for advice on best bet for... More

Service was very good. Food better still. Very tasty food, refined flavours and presentation. Service was very attentive and we felt very looked after. We chose classic Swedish cuisine and enjoyed every mouthful. If we come back to Sweden we will eat here again, and recommend to others.

I love eating the old style pork knuckle with mashed turnips and mustard when I visit Pelikan. But the last time I had one drink at a dinner of 2h and that was not in lack of thirst. The service was so bad that I almost wanted to leave without paying. If I tell you as a waiter that I... More

Went here on recommandation of the hotel. Very noisy, crowded place, with nothing but tourists: always a bad sign. Food was either bland, or too salty. Tomato salad was a joke: literally one sliced tomato with some chopped onions and oil. Waiters have only one task: to sell you as much (expensive) drinks as possible.

We did have to wait a long time for our food, but we were a group of 19 diners, here for a special occasion. We practically had one room to ourselves. The dining room was very spacious, with impressive artworks on the wall. The meatballs and mashed potato were excellent. BIG, dense meatballs, 4 of them, and I could only... More

We first came here a couple of years ago after being recommended for "traditional Swedish food" and absolutely loved it! We were considering going elsewhere after reading some slightly negative reviews but decided to go again as we had enjoyed it so much previously. We were not disappointed! Gubbröra as a starter was out of this world - so unusual... More
