Java is so popular with the locals that it can be difficult to get a table for breakfast on weekends. This says a lot about the place. The food is excellent and so is the service. You can go there and hang out with friends for coffee or sit and have breakfast or lunch. It is usually a buzz of activity.... More

During our recent visit to Umdloti, my wife and I went for early morning strolls along the beach front. It is great to have a coffee shop open so early in the morning! And best of all - they allow dogs in the restaurant. Probably the reason why my wife wanted to have coffee there every other morning. Lot of... More

We have been there twice now, once for breakfast and once for a quick lunch and on both occasions it was a very nice place to eat and see the ocean. The coffee is also excellent and it is worth a visit just for the scenery and coffee.

I met friends here for what I thought was going to be a quick meeting as we were all pressed for time, sadly Caffe Java's idea of time was very different to mine and service was very slow with a waiter appearing after dropping off menu's only after we had to go to the counter to request our order be... We called in for lunch and ordered mushroom soup, yuck! just thick cream and sliced mushrooms, the salad wasn't any better. Nice staff but tired décor, I will give this place a miss next time I am in town

We often go to eat here whilst on holiday in the North Coast. The menu has a wide variety of drinks and food to choose from, and we have never ordered anything that was not delicious. The food is also priced very good and very good value for money.

We've been to Java twice during our stay in Umdloti - the first time for breakfast and second time for lunch. Both times we had really good service and the food was equally lovely! Their cajun chicken salad is simply fab! A really good place for light meals and good service and not overpriced at all.. Very enjoyable experience!

We absolutely love Caffe Java Umdloti. Open from 7am, this elevated venue has a balcony which if you can get a table at, provides a stunning view of the sea. Between 8 and 10 we have often seen whales, dolphins, whale sharks, and large rays cruise by. The food is wonderful, with a huge number of breakfast, brunch and lunch... More
