Very very friendly place to eat. Staff are so friendly, inviting and attentive. The food was excellent - one of the best Steak & Ale pies we've had, and we've had a few. Desserts were lovely too - homemade roulade, very tasty. Envious of the locals, because they have a great pub.

My husband and I visited The Tavern last week during our trip to the UK, just for drinks. There was such a great atmosphere, we both decided we wanted to return for a meal as we had heard such good reports. My husband was unable to come, but I took my parents last night (Saturday) and we had the most... More

Unfortunately Didn't get a chance to sample the menu as it was Monday & quiz night, no food available. However, enjoyed a few drinks & was made very welcome by landlord & locals. Would definitely visit again as the food comes highly recommended.

Good food, drinks, little bit on the pricey side. We had stone baked pizzas which were lovely but considering they were 'take away' as there was no tables available the prices remained the same.

Nice oldie worldy pub. Good service with a smile. Food excellent. Locals were a little load but they have returned from a stag weekend. The landlord did offer us to move to a quieter area of the pub. Recommend to anyone.

My family and I visited the tavern without a reservation. The staff were super friendly and although they were really busy still found a table for us. The food arrived in good time and was a good example of traditional pub food that was cooked very well. I had the steak and ale pie, my wife had gammon, and my... More

We arrived later in the evening looking for a meal for a tired and hungry family of 6 and were not disappointed. Although some of the menu items were no longer available the staff were very helpful in finding alternatives and gave us complimentary bread while we waited for our order. The beef roast with Yorkshire pudding was very good... More
