If you are considering making the trip to Faviken, don't hesitate. Do it. This was hands-down the most amazing dining experience my husband and I have ever had. Do a google search and find some food bloggers recaps of their experiences here to get an idea of what you are in for. I won't do the experience proper justice here,... More

Of course, we are talking about Hell, Norway where we stopped for a compulsory picture stop at the old train station. The experience starts with very scenic drive through the countryside of Norway and Sweden (if you have chosen to land in Trondheim that is). As it happened we were particularly lucky to drive through the mountain on the week... More

This in not the place to go if you need to ask the price! But what an amazing experience. 23 courses with different wines, chosen by the sommelier, for each group of courses. We would have preferred slightly fewer; it was a bit overwhelming. Each course was beautifully presented after a detailed description by the chef including instructions about how... More

This is truly one of the best restaurants in the World - and the total experience makes it perhaps the best restaurant experience you can have! Everything is sources on the northern mountain estate - and cooked with the ultimate rustic elegance! Impeccable service - innovative wine lsit - amazing space and surroundings. Nothing beats it. We had seen a program presenting this place on the French TV and therefore included it to our Norway/Swedish itinerary. One can go for dinner only but there are 6 rooms as well and it's much better to spend the afternoon before and morning after, there as well, as the location and buildings are outstanding as well. Weather permitting you... More

I don't know, I guess if you're a non Scandinavian it's more special and unique this "wooden cottage" lost in the wilderness feeling. I personally found the whole experience too choreographed and even a bit soulless. maybe if I had stayed overnight I would have felt the magic describes by others, but I base my experience solely on the food... Headed to Faviken having been told by my sister about two years ago that she'd met a guy who worked at Noma who told her to forget his gaff, Faviken, in the back end of nowhere, was where the real action was but only Scandinavians really knew about it. Then, about six months ago, saw AA Gill's five star write... More

One of the most unforgettable dining experiences ever. Totally worth the journey. The breakfast the following morning is all part of the experience too so do not be tempted to miss it. We were there in July and would now like to visit again to try the menu from another season. Staying over night is hugely comfortable. Do not be... More

Magical experience in a magical setting. Fäviken is probably one of the world's best restaurants with local top class food cooked and served in a highly innovative way. The restaurant does not have room for more than 10-15 people and when we were there we were 6 of us with probably the same number of chefs in the kitchen and... More

Travelling here from the UK is as another reviewer put it a pilgrimage, we came via Trondheim which was a beautiful journey in itself even if a little long. So arriving at the appointed check in time of 5 pm is perfect as there was time to wind down, relax & change with the help of the provided sauna, cold... More
