Found this lovely little place walking past on a cold, blustery night. It looked so welcoming from outside. I loved the eclectic furniture and busy ambience. Pretty limited menu but the burgers all sounded delicious. I had the Vietnamese salad though which was the best I've had outside of Vietnam! We were only in Copenhagen for three days but went... We stopped here for breakfast a couple times and enjoyed it very much. It's in the Norreport area so it was easy to get to. We each had a smorrebrod breakfast dish that was very good, as well as a good cup of coffee. Every time we walked by here, this place was bustling. The staff was very helpful and... More

This fantastic quirky little locals cafe/bar was just around the corner from Hotel Kong Arthur where we were staying. It was really busy when when popped in at 6pm on a Friday but we found a table and ordered a couple of drinks. Prices were surprisingly reasonable, a large beer was 45kr, and a large red wine was 55kr. Not... More

We called here on a recent visit to Copenhagen - for coffee and pancakes! We were warmly welcomed and got seats quite quickly even though the place was almost full. Actually two of the diners there moved table so the four of us could sit together - says a lot about the clientele! We ordered at the counter as required... More

When you take the trouble to descend the steps to its basement entrance, Kalaset's staff are warm and welcoming. English is no problem for them - translated menus are on hand and the staff are prepared to take the trouble to explain and help you make your choice. There isn't a big selection on offer, but the Saigon salad I... More

When I am home I tend to eat salads for many of my meals. I often have real difficulty finding a good salad in other countries. I went to this restaurant based on Tripadvisor recommendations. It is only a stone's throw from my hotel. It had a great atmosphere very friendly staff and the salad was wonderful, fresh, creative and... More

We went to Kalaset twice over a few days. Casual and fun ambience during the day, growing to cosy and candlelit during dinner. Loved the retro-vintage decor, the mis-matched furniture, and the help-yourself chocolate spread during breakfast! Very friendly staff. There are English menus, and you order at the bar counter and find seats yourself. Specials are written on the... More

Passed this place and saw it was popular so popped in for a snack and a drink. Managed to get a table. It's counter service, informal, and staff were very friendly. Had the smorgasbord (160kr)- bigger than we expected and delicious- exactly what we were looking for as a light dinner. Best thing about this place was the atmosphere- lively... More

This was my second visit to Kalaset. The staff were friendly and the berry pancakes and coffee were both amazing. It seems very popular with the locals which is usually a good sign.

Went twice during my recent trip to Copenhagen - both times I had the pancakes and bacon - which were some of the finest pancakes I've eaten. I especially liked how they a) let me order double bacon for 20kr and b) there were loads of jugs of maple syrup on the bar for adding more syrup! Staff were friendly,... More
