This was a delicious and random find while walking around Copenhagen. We were hoping to find a "reasonably priced" restaurant for dinner and this was the perfect place for us! It was a quaint and diverse place for being just a cafe. Kalaset was decorated with mismatched tables and chairs and eclectic posters throughout. We had some refreshing beers with... More

Visited twice in June. Very impressed. Our first visit was for a beer, which became two thanks to the helpful and friendly tourist advice from the lady behind the bar. Our second visit was for an evening snack; The quality was excellent and quantity impressive (a customer and the barman gave good advice on menu selection). Cost was reasonable -... More

We were at Kalaset on a Tuesday night. It was busy but we were able to have a table without waiting. I had the pasta, my husband had the Vietnamese salad and my daughter had the Kalas burger. We all enjoyed our food and would recommand the place. It was very good.

There are so many enticing choices in their Menu that it was quite difficult to choose. Portions were generous! Vegetarians will not feel left out here as they also have a good list to pick from. I love the concept of offering free naturally flavored water with which you can serve yourself as much as your thirst would quench for.... More

Had brunch here on a Saturday in June. The food was good and it was a lot of it, but it took 45 from we ordered to we good our food. I would go back here for breakfast another time if I am not in a hurry.

Our first meal at Kalaset (and it won't be the last) was a light dinner after arriving in the city. It is across the street from our hotel and was very welcome after our fight, a Metro ride, and pulling our luggage three blocks from the Metro station. We were thrilled to see the menu is vegetarian-friendly. We split a... More

We had Saturday brunch at Kalaset - I get the impression it is a bit of an institution for Copenhagen. The atmosphere was really good and I imagine it is also great in the evenings. The food is basic but generous and good value by Copenhagen standards. It is just opposite Ibsens and nearby Kong Arthur hotels and a five... More

Came with friends for a leisurely late lunch last Friday - the place was buzzing due to a shining review the day before in "Politikken", Copenhagen's foremost serious journal and I had to wait for a table. We weren't in a hurry, so it didn't matter. Neither the service not the seating is particularly polished - one doesn't come here... More
