Based on our early memories and impressions, we reinterpret the way Danish food should be prepared. With great respect for the original French craft of cooking, and by using novel techniques, we prepare food that reflects true elegance, and at the same time - attention to details. Our kitchen has successfully accomplished its mission this year by achieving a star in the Michelin guide - a clear recognition of the hard work and high dedication of our staff. Our restaurant is located in a charming area of Copenhagen, where tradition and rejuvenation meet - a perfect match for the food we serve.

To celbrate my son's 21st so we were pushing the boat out. Not cheap but this is high end dining in Copenhagen. From the moment we arrived we were extremely well looked after and given plenty of time to consider our menu options over an aperitif. We chose the smaller of the tasting menus. Smaller is probably the wrong word... More

This is clearly the best Michelin restaurant I have been at and eaten at. I have been in London and outside London at Michelin restaurants. I have been in Cologne, in Nice in Paris and last time in Madrid on a 2 star restaurant. It is so unfair to Kokkeriet that they only has one star, if the restaurant had... More

The food is delicious and sophisticated. If you are going for an interim and cosy atmosphere this is the place to go. Expect a few hours or three to pass by as you are seduced by the serviceminded staff and fantastic food.

I was lucky enough to be taken to Kokkeriet for my birthday. We opted for the smaller tasting menu (7 courses) with wine pairing. We expected bread and an amuse bouche as always with these kind of restaurants but not the additional 'snacks' that came before (all 5 of them). All courses both small & large were creative, intricate and... More

First of all, it's strange that there are only a few reviews on this fabulous restaurant. As a person who used to work in one of the Michelin 3-star restaurants, it was never forgettable experience to be in Kokkeriet. The food by David Johansen was divine, experimental and exquisite. The meal we ordered was composed of 13 courses, most of... More

What does one do if, on arrival at a good restaurant, one is led through the buzzy, full, atmospheric dining room to an empty room at the back with three set tables and no guests? Options are limited. One can turn around and remonstrate charmingly but firmly - to little probable avail or satisfaction on the basis that, when one... More

Dear guest I am so very sorry to read about your evening at Kokkeriet. We just recently started booking the last part of the restaurant. And as you say, it is not openly connected to the rest of the restaurant, but with the same music and interior. We chose to open up for the last part as we had a... More

There's no doubt that the chefs put a great deal of thought and technique into the food here (as was made evident by the interesting and elaborate explanations of each dish), but the end result isn't for everyone. All the reinterpretations of traditional Danish dishes reminded me of using modern costumes and settings in productions of classical operas. I liked... More

Dear Guest We appreciate your words on the effort that our chefs put into each dish. We are extremely sorry to hear your judgment of our food though. We put a really high effort in interpreting dished with a unique and Danish taste. We taste, discuss, rethink, taste, discuss and so forth. But we know, that not everyone can have... More
