We had the pleasure of enjoying lunch at the Skindbuksen on October 5, 2014. We found the prices very reasonable in such an expensive city. The service was excellent and the ambiance superb. There aren't many places where you can eat lunch in a restaurant that opened the same year George Washington was born (1732). We each had a traditional... More

We had lunch here and enjoyed our meal. We had four kinds of smørrebrød- all were delicious. The service was very friendly, kind and patient (older gentleman). The atmosphere of the restaurant was great- intimate with cool artworks. The prices were very reasonable.

The restaurant is full of character and appears not to have changed in decades. The food is from a time before "international" cuisine or fast food (or salad as anything but a garnish) - robust, simple "everyday" dishes. Not for vegetarians. Friendly staff. The place is relatively small and very popular so booking is advised even mid-week.

We came upon this restaurant by chance while walking around Copenhagen. Four of us ate here choosing a variety of main courses from the menu. All of them were excellent and the staff (owners?) were attentive and helpful. A very pleasant surprise for a city centre restaurant.

We didn't set out to go here but as a group of 11 it's very difficult for establishments to accommodate and so we landed on this 'gem' by mistake. The food was just excellent and there was not one bit of it that I found anything short of perfection. The service was also brilliant, we were seen to fast, the... More

Before going to the Gamle Scene we went in for dinner and were the first ones there around 6:00 pm. The owner was very friendly and nice and was in the mood for fun because there was a soccer game against Sweden and he was all dressed in Red :-) I read about being a very old Restaurant and the... Located in a 1728 building off Kongens Nytorv this restaurant specialises in local food. We had a shared Danish Platter which included pickled herring, chicken, pork, fish, cheese, capers and rye bread. A good introduction to local dishes.

We stumbled upon this place soon after arriving in Copenhagen. We were avoiding the rain and decided to pop in for a feed. My partner ordered a burger and I ordered the liver. When the food came out, we were shocked at how big the servings were. It looked great and more importantly it tasted great. The service was good... More

We went on recommendation from friendly locals, and were not disappointed. The food is honest-to-goodness rather than spectacular, but in an expensive city it stands out as a half-decent place to go for value. The staff were friendly as was the atmosphere, chock full of happy locals.

We where recommended this restaurant by friends. The restaurant is in the same building as Hvits Vinstue, a favourite pub in Copenhagen when visiting this lovely town. Skindbuksen is full of atmosphere and you don’t expect a gourmet meal. Our food was average, nothing to brag about. The waiters was in good spirit and had a good time with the... More
