You're right Ryley B, great atmosphere

A very good choice for dinner in Copenhagen: if you are a pub-lover as I am, you'll like this place. Restaurant is small and reservation is recommended if you really want to have dinner here; easy to reach by underground, Skinbusksen offers very good Danish food. Good service. FYI It's easy to... read more

Authentic Danish meal with great atmosphere in a tiny pub/restaurant in Copenhagen. Pianist playing well know songs. Good food at average prices - generous portions. Tables close together but this gave us an excellent opportunity to chat to our neighbours and find out about the cuisine. Packed with locals. No other tourists. Really pleased we found this place. We tried... More

A great find in the heart of Copenhagen next to the Magasin Du Nord shopping store. Friendly staff, great atmosphere and delicious food. I was the only tourist in the place. This is a great place if you are hungry (big portions), looking for Danish food in a charming place. Love the piano player

Lively and fun, especially early evening. You're well looked after and the host (it's very like a bustling English pub) is full of suggestions and typical Danish charm. Go with whatever he suggests. The place has been a restaurant since 1720 or so so they know what they're about. Mostly popular with locals but you won't feel out of place.

I really like this place and the food was great. I was looking for an off the path authentic Danish restaurant and this was recommended by my hotel. Danish style hamburger and beer was delicious. There was a piano man even though the restaurant can only hold 30-40 people? (small place). The patrons would sing along at various times. Everyone... More

The restaurant is pretty small but the atmosphere is great. The two servers were a lot of fun and spoke english very well. The pork loin had a crust on the top and was like nothing I've ever eaten before. I even bought a Danish cookbook to try to replicate this dish at home. Definitely one of the highlights of... More

This is more than a bar/restaurant. It is the history of Copenhagen. Live piano from wednesday to saturday - all the year. It´s a "all together" place if you are out for a funny evening in old Copenhagen. This cellar bar has been there forever. You can eat traditional danish dinner for a nice price. The portions are made for... More

We were walking around the Christmas Markets looking for a place to have a beer and found Skindbuksen. They had a special Christmas Beer that was quite hearty. They could spend a little money and clean the place up a bit as may not have been cleaned since it opened in 1728? the Doctor

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
