Oldest Restaurant in Town

If you are looking for an authentic Copenhagen restaurant this is the place. Not hard to find but out of the way. The food was delicious, but don't ask for a salad. They don't have them and don't like being asked. Waitstaff was fun and attentive. Established in 1787 this is a don't miss restaurant... read more

the restaurant is small, so reservations are recommended. It had an extensive menu with a number of nightly specials. The Danish specialties are close to German. The portions are quite generous. I had delicious roast pork, served with many vegetables and so many potatoes. apparently they do not take

The place is nice, but it seems that unless you are a Movie Star or a very well known entertainer, the service realy sucks. Had a business dinner and the waitress could not really care if we wanted anything. Behind us was a group of actors and they got all the attention. We got out meal, which was OK, not... More

We tried twice to have dinner here and finally we decided to book (in any case booking is recommended only during the weekend). The place is very characteristic and makes you feel immediately at ease. We had the shrimps from Greenland and the smoked salmon as started and then the todbodean fish as main course. All was absolutely fresh and... More

Great and unique decor. Staff very friendly and helped us select typical copenhagen sandwiches. Food itself was tasty and just outstanding. Perfect place to visit and have a beer as well after a long walk

My twin brother and I both have been here several times as this very traditional bodega is just so good for atmosphere, charming staff and an absolutely fantastic interior. We have always loved the look of this place, nice outside seating and very inviting. On our last visit we ordered HERRING,i know you can get this in any pub,bar or restaurant... More

Visited early Feb 2015 with clients and colleagues. Far from Michelin type experimental food in a sterile environment, Toldbod Bodega offers healthy, traditional and amazingly well prepared food! Taste wise worthy of Michelin stars. The restaurant is cluttered with tiffany lamps, pictures of former kings and royalties and misc riff raff creating a very cosy atmosphere. The waiters are not... It was a cold Sunday morning and after walking around the palace district we required a break. We accidentally came across this building. Through the windows it looked inviting with Tiffany style lamps and tables were you were not sitting on your neighbours lap. We were early and managed to get a table for two. Whilst we were there every... More

Very traditional, and really good food. The smoked eel was much better than elsewhere in Copenhagen, and even better than in Holland. Very efficient service, and a really good menu.

Danish smørrebrød is widely considered as a standard product. Sadly it often is of poor quality, but a few places still flag the original taste, simply by choosing originality and quality. Toldbod Bodega is such a place. Although Danish servants often dislike serving customers, at Toldbod Bodega they do it with a smile. Prices are reasonable and good beers are... More
