I was recently in Copenhagen on a Town Twinning visit and we were taken to Christiania and to the restaurant for a meal. What a surprise!! The food and drink were just superb. As there where about twenty of us we had a set meal which was absolutely delicious, chicken potatoes and salad. Christiania was certainly very different to anything... More

Situated in a derelict warehouse in heart of Christiania this restaurant was a positive surprise. The restaurant is on the top floor in a long hall accompanied by a homely traditional decor. The food was excellent, with the splendid localized gourmet fare a further example of Denmark's burgeoning gastro culture. The place seemed to be a popular among the locals... More

Our extended family had a wonderful evening at Spiseloppen this summer. We thought we were in the wrong place as we followed the signs up the graffiti-covered steps of an old warehouse(?) in Christiana. The restaurant at the top was breezy and delightful. Our waitress kindly translated the entire menu for us. Though we all enjoyed our meals; I think... More

This is the gourmet restaurant in the "free city" of Christiania. It is not exactly a cheap place, but treat yourselves to a gourmet meal here. You won't regret it.

Excellent food, especially the main courses. Very reasonable prices. The entrance staircase is quite treacherous but well worth the climb to the 3rd floor.

This place is an experience. It's in Christiania, and you come up a dodgy looking stairway to get to the restaurant. Once inside, it's a fine setting. The waiter was funny. We were a party of 10, and tried pretty much everything on the menu, and everyone liked what they had. We had an 8 PM reservation, and by the... More

Do not forget you're in Christiania, things are different here, and so is this restaurant, you may be in the alternative scene, you are still in Denmark, no sloppy food or service is to be expected here. Most crew is foreign, and all do their best to run a good restaurant.

I have known this restaurant for over 20 years and would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the city. The area it is in is very interesting of course for a number of reasons. If it's your first visit do not be put off by the entrance. Once you are inside you will be welcomed and served very well. There... More

Had a terrific meal at Spiseloppen in December. The place was a little hard to find though. The address for the restaurant actually takes you to the back of the building. You have to go around to a courtyard area (we went down Pusher St.) to find the entrance. The stairway is full of graffiti and people smoking cigarettes, but... More
