Good Food for Hippies

My wife and I came here after walking down the weird but interesting Pushers Street and this is as quirky but without the drugs. We had a shrimp starter and it had a lot of coherent flavors with both garlic and sweet potatoes. For a main we had the beef tenderloin which came with excellent sides... read more

We sort of happened upon tnis place...remembered the directions here - thank you. On a Wednesday we got in without reserving, but much better to call. My salmon, caviar, shrimp starter was fabulous. The lamb main had a Greek feel, with sides of eggplant, tsatsiki, and potato. My wife had poulet stuffed with shrimp. The preparation was superb. Loved the... More

As others have written, its location is a bit difficult to find. If you come around into the Christiania district the sign is up high on the old building. The stairs are steep and covered in graffiti so it can be a bit disconcerting. However, the restaurant is lovely, the food interesting, well prepared and served attractively.

Super charmy place with a super location just inside of Christiania, embracing the laid back attitude of the freetown. Down to earth interior and staff, nice decorative food that hasnt blasted totally through the roof of the "smart-chart". Solid modern cooking at fair prices. The staircase taking you to the restaurant itself is a portal to an east Berlin underground... More

Difficult to find but once there you will not regret visiting this place. Interior is very misleading. Food and wine are great.

We visited Loppen for the first time last week. From the outside it does not look like much and the stairs up to the Restaurent also looks pretty spooky, but once you enter the restaurent, it's a completely different thing. It's really nice and warm, even though it's obviously just a renovated attic. It's very spacious and there is plenty... More

went here yesterday again and food as always was amazing. I just noticed that some people have written it's hard to find. Yes that's true. So here comes an explanation of how to get there. First find your way to Christiania. Enter Christiania at the first Entrance when you walk from Christianshavns torv where the 2 streets Prinsessegade and Bådmandsstræde... More

My wife and I paid a visit to Spiseloppen with relatives whilst in Copenhagen. We were not sure what to expect as we were lead up the graffiti covered stairs up to the restaurant . How surprised we were to find a well laid out tables and a very pleasant atmosphere. We ate early evening and it was not too... More

Strange way up to the restaurant. No signs. We went a few times around and had to ask for the right way. They are located upstairs in the roof top of an old industrial building. The don't offer just wine or drinks. There is a MUST to order a meal. Made us wounder because drinks should pay out best for... More

The atmosphere is perfect and food excellent. The steak is always so good! Price for mains 150-250. Danish kr. Absolutely worth a visit, but remember this is a very popular place so you need to reserve a table in advance. The right hand side of the restaurant is reserved for people from Christiania, so these tables might be free but... More
