Krogs Fiskerestaurant has had an unsettled existence in recent years, with many different owners slowly but surely eroding the core concept at one of Copenhagen's most traditional restaurants. But now, Krogs is in the hands of people who take the grand old lady seriously. They have quietly spent the past 6 months in the kitchen to hit a culinary note that is uncompromisingly rooted in history, but also brings more than 100 years of Danish cuisine into the 21st century. From now on, Krogs Fiskerestaurant serves Danish classics with a personal touch - just no nonsense, honest food prepared from the best available ingredients. Their ambition is clear: offering the best seafood in the country, served in a pleasant and personal atmosphere - nothing more, nothing less.

We wanted fish for dinner and found this restaurant on the Internet. Nice reviews made us choose to book a table there. Everything from the starters to the dessert tasted delicious! The service was great and the staff were taking time to talk to us and the other guests. No stress at all. It's a quite small restaurant and I... More

Krogs is tucked away behind Omni-present Metro construction barriers, but worth finding. The oldest continuous restaurant in town. It's been tastefully updated and visually warm and welcoming. The seafood was excellent and the service was attentive. Wine list was good too.

I enjoy eating at Krogs and it has become my favourite place to eat. I don't eat out often, perhaps once every second month, so when I do, I just want the food to be good, and the atmosphere to be cosy. Which is why I end up here most times. The food always surpasses my expectations. It is Danish/French... More

We were looking forward to first class seafood and arrived at Krogs expecting great things for our last night in Copenhagen. First impressions were of a tired and soulless restaurant, not helped by being given a table looking directly at the loo doors (right in the middle of the restaurant with minimal screening). The wine list was ridiculously expensive, nothing... More

My husband started with the oysters and the were good. Followed up with the bouillabaise which he thought was the best he ever had. I had the mussels, very good and lots of them. The service was very good. One note, we had a bit of a problem with our credit card. Make sure the settings on their computer is... More

Off a little plaza and next to a canal you'll find the small Krog's establishment. Fantastic fish and seafood (I've never been served so many mussels in one sitting). Great wine list and the wait staff is both experienced and knowledgeable. Even though I wasn't dressed for it, I was still welcomed and several other parties were celebrating or having... More

I had been here previously about 30 years ago, and I remember the food being first rate, tactfully served in a classic setting. My visit tonight echoes many of the shortcomings of other recent reviewers. It was an hour and a half before any food arrived, which prompted the waiter to offer a bottle of wine as an apology. When... More

Krogs came highly recommended and we were not disappointed. The building is relatively old but the inside of the restaurant was elegant but not fussy. The service was on the formal side but still friendly. The food was excellent. I ordered the salad. It came perfectly dressed with a mixed selection of greens - all quite tasty. We ordered bot... On a rainy Copenhagen evening on the recommendation of our hotel we made a last minute reservation at Krogs. What a find ...a beautiful old historic building serving spectacular food.I must say the service was a little slow but our waiter ... a charming man...was most apologetic and recompensed us with drinks on the house. The food however was well... More
