Beautiful location and great dinning

The restaurant is beautifully located by Christinhavns canal. Its on the Michelin guide as a place worth dinning. And it is. The food is really excellent and the Wine selection amazing. The service is nice, but not super attentive. The service started out a bit pretentious serving water as if it... read more

We selected this restaurant based on many favorable TA reviews. Unfortunately for us our experience was less than pleasurable. As noted by other reviewers, this restaurant has a limited and somewhat unique menu. On the June 2015 night we visited, the Chef's 3 course menu was scallops, followed by Goose as the main dish followed with either cheese or a... More

We had the most amazing introduction to Danish cuisine at Kanalen. It was a true silver service experience, the waiters were attentive without being over the top. The atmosphere was great not fussy or pretentious but comfortable and relaxing, a real sense of 'hygge' ! The food and wine was fantastic, with lovely complimentary tasters in-between courses, we both had... More

The setting along the canals creates a perfect feeling of Copenhagen, still quiet and secluded. Very cheerfull service and excellent food and wine

Pretends to be the place for fine dining in Copenhagen. Food is good (small menu with limited choice), but more expensive than what it should be given the quality. Wine in particular is ridiculously expensive. Most of the staff seemed to be in training, nice and friendly but a bit inexperienced. Two glitches at the end of the dinner that... More

On our last night in Copenhagen, my husband and I decided we would like to go somewhere for a special meal. As we couldn't get a reservation at Noma LOL, we asked the Nimb Hotel for a recommendation. Kanalen was it! Recently renovated due to some water damage. We were greeted at the door and whisked in to set at... More

I was taken there for a group business dinner, and it was fanastic. The menu was fixed, and the waiters kept bringing small dishes throughout the evening. Very delicious food and cozy renovated restaurant on the canal for a beautiful setting. Service was also excellent.

Return visit for lunch following a dinner about a year ago. Restaurant refurbished since then and still has an excellent view of quiet canal. Lunch menu excellent with amazing flavours for the Ox tail consome and superb herring open sandwiches. Well worth a visit - a pleasant walk along the side of the canals

Taken by the company so did not see the bill, we had a fixed menu meal which had two pre starters. Very tasty and easy to manage all 5 courses, service was excellent.
