The menu in Pigen og somanden offers a selection of simple dishes inspired by the Danish and French cuisines - with a special focus on seafood. The chefs take great pride in using the very best of the seasonal produce. The decor in Pigen og somanden has many maritime details telling a tale of a time when Nyhavn was a bustling port and the center of Copenhagen's ship traffic. Nice place at Nyhavn

Nyhavn is a tourist trap so one mustn't expect a great deal. Having said that Pigen offers a friendly service and a nice selection of local and non-local beers, ales, etc. We only sat for a couple of pints and the atmosphere was great in the evening. Expect to pay £6-7 for a pint. Avoid during... read more

Wandering on a rainy evening in Copenhagen and found this pleasant cafe. Food was delicious! The menu is small but that just makes choosing easier. We ordered hot chocolate which came with real whipped cream. Really, a lovely little place. In good weather there are tables for sitting Lang the canal

A simple menu, fresh ingredients and good service in light & airy surroundings. The plaice was beautifully cooked, with new potatoes, green asparagus & white wine sauce. They also offered mussels or beer-battered fish & chips, steaks. Three types of dessert, all nicely presented - and scrumptious!

we had fresh shrimps, very tasty, and the service was very good as well. The price range in Nyhavn seems to be the same, so OK.

We sat indoors - outside was full although it was a sunny but windy day. We had excellent service and thoroughly enjoyed our food. I know what a previous reviewer means by the size of the plaice - I think it will be bigger in June! We did not complain as we knew a plaice in May would not be... More

one of the first on the sunny side when going out of the water bus. Like all restaurants on any have they have tables outside, facing the canal where we ate lunch (4 sandwiches: one with curried herring, one with potato, mayo and onion, one with smoked lamb, cheese and green asparagus and one with shrimps in dill salsa). Lunch... More

We were served a whole fried plaice without any meat, it was just skin and bone. We got a dessert as a compensation and it was ok but we were still hungry when we left the restaurant.

Good location, looks promising from the outside. However the meal was disappointing. We both ordered fish and chips as a main course. Whilst the food was tasty the portions were extremely small with only five small mouth size pieces of fish and about a dozen chips. We both left still hungry. Out of the five restaurants we visited throughout our... More
