For our thrid lunch in Copenhagen we went to this restaurant which came highly recommended by friends and family in Copenhagen and we were not disappointed. The smørrebrød was excellent, freshly made and delicious. My husband and I had the friend fillet of plaice, which was good - but not as good as the one we enjoyed at Toldbod Bodegaen,... More

With a menu of about 40 well composed open sandwiches everyone would find some tempting. Our choises were from their selection of herrings, filets of plaice and the vet's delight. All made up with a careful choise of trimmings to enhance the taste and add to the joy of good food. We preferred beer to the open sandwiches. The waiter... More

Nice place in Nyhavn, very good sandwiches. All tables were occupied, so best to make a reservation. Good selection, really difficult to choose!

This was a fantastic brunch with my sister and brother-in-law. We each tried different delicious open-face sandwiches. We were all impressed with our food, and would have loved to have been able to try everything on the menu. The atmosphere was lovely as well. Of course, you must try the snaps!

We were looking for a lunchtime restaurant away from a fast food outlets which encourage workers tight on time. A quick look on Trip Advisor and within 10 minutes we were enjoying a friendly, hospitable and attractive menu. Traditional Danish food but nothing weird here, grilled herring, beef with fried egg and mature cheese all served on fresh Danish bread.... More

When traveling alone, dining can be uncomfortable but not at Told & Snaps- from the moment I arrived I was made comfortable and provided all of the same attentions as the party of 12 seated nearby. The sandwiches were delicious, narrowing to two was a challenge, and the waiter proposed wonderful Snaps to accompany each one. What a delightful afternoon... More

My family wanted to eat a traditional Danish lunch and we were lucky to walk into this place. Many different choices which helped cover every ones desires. Service was great and very helpful in deciding which plates to get. We will stop here again on our next visit to Copenhagen.

Forget the tourist places, plan ahead, make a reservation (a must and not a day or two ahead, think a week or more ahead) and go local. Best traditional (but not dated) Danish smørrebrød, with delicious homemade snaps (small shot of a strong alcoholic beverage taken during the course of a meal), all in an incredibly cozy (I think the... I think this place has the best lunch smorrebrod in Copenhagen. It even has great homemade snaps and the service is both very friendly and efficient. They have a big menu with lots of Danish delicacies to choose from, and don't forget to look at the daily special available during the weekdays. If like me you're not an expert on... More

Small place featuring slow food (meaning that it is prepared the old fashioned way) but unfortunately was also served at a leisurely pace....we asked for our check several times and they finally produced it 25 minutes later as we decided to force the issue but getting up to leave. The open face sandwiches are of gourmet level food and of... More
