Very cool (and cheap!) café/bar and restaurant

The food is very good and very good value for Copenhagen. Staff were lovely and books/games make it a good place to stay for the day.

The coffee shop is open until 9pm, but the antique book shop is only open until...6. So beware if you want to buy a book. The location is fantastic: opposite the library of Copenhagen University in a quiet little pedestrian street. - the pluses: * the place in itself: three types of seating areas to choose between : antique (opposite... When we arrived the cafe was very busy, but were able to find a seat shortly after. The cafe seems to be a popular student haunt, being just opposite the university buildings. The food was lovely and menu pretty extensive - I had the vegetarian lasagne which was lovely. The setting is really quirky and nice, with books lined up... More

We were so happy with the service, our meal and the vibe. Right before we left though, some went to the bathroom including me, and it was absolutely disgusting. It was smelly, dirty, with tags on the walls, and I don't want to mention what was on the toilet seat. It was a shame because we had such a good... More

A lovely cafe-library setting and atmosphere, ideal to do some work or study with a good cup of coffee. Had a delicious smoked salmon sandwich too! Its quite busy though, you might have some difficulties getting a spot or standing in line for a while.

We have just stopped off for lunch at this cafe. When we arrived it was very busy, which is always a good sign. We waited patiently in the queue and ordered one of the famous chicken burgers. We were shocked when it arrived, it was massive! Great burger with perfectly baked potato! This place is a defiantly popular with the... More

such a nice place for sitting and starting to chat ever! There is really cozy cafe and creative decoration. Besides, the menu are quite interesting. On the other hand, there is super crowded especially on Friday and Saturday.

Love this place, it has everything. Atmosphere, great menu and reasonably priced (for Copenhagen). Staff are polite and friendly and there's lots to do. I've spent time here as a lone traveller and this weekend, with my partner. Can't wait to come back; would recommend to all.

Just off the main shopping area, but there also smaller shops along this road. Opposite the University, and a natural haunt for younger people, but if you like us are past student days, have no fear there are many of the older set here also. There is free Wifi here. The food id ordered at the bar/till point. A large... More

A real treasure trove for book lovers and the food is good. Saturday lunchtime and it was full so we were unsure of finding a free table. The rule is you find a table before you queue up at the counter to order food. Luckily, we persevered and a table became vacant. Plenty of choice from the menu, from open... More

Neighborhood Profile
Indre By (Inner City)
This is the heart of old town Copenhagen, with its blend of charming old buildings and bold new architecture, broad avenues and tiny streets as well as picturesque canals and a modern harbor. The inner city is home to the Royal Danish Theatre, which consists of three buildings, two of which are new and situated on the harbor front. The streets, squares and venues of the inner city and its surrounding neighborhoods, are alive all year round with everything from jazz festivals to outdoor ice skating rinks and parachuting at the lakes right in the center of the city. This compact area boasts beautiful old castles, tranquil parks, and bustling squares where you can always find a bench to stretch out your legs whenever you need a break.
