The restaurant to take visitors

Is my favorite place to eat in Tivoli and to take visitors after touring the park. Is always busy but you can walk in and get a table really fast. The best thing is that locals go there all the time :-) The food is classic Danish but cooked very well. Go for the Danish choices instead of the... read more

We arrived to find a queue but the greeter worked it very efficiently finding out table sizes needed and providing reassurance that it would only be a short wait. She even went to the trouble to make sure no one was waiting outside in the cold. Meal was traditional with quick service, very polite staff and very tasty.

We came 9 persons for Christmas Lunch. Table booked month in advance. On arrival (it was raining like hell) our table was not ready and waitingbar or other waiting area avaiable - so we were directed to the smoking area !!!!!! Finally our table ready - but then a discussion came - if the table was for us or for... More

Wonderful resturant. Food was good. But the service was the best! The managers Jøgen and Bruno are the best people! Cannot wait to go back this summer!

All the food is very danish but suits its self to being ordered tapas style with lots of small sharing plates . Don't go for the ready made up sharing selection , its... More

It's mostly kids & the elderly in Perth, WA that sit down for dinner @ 4:00pm, but the big light goes out early in Copenhagen, so there we were, welcomed in by Elizabeth, our smiling waitress/hostess. 'The preferred table at the reserved at 5:30pm, is that enough time?' Great advice on the traditional Danish meal, soup followed by roast pork... More

Went on a Friday in December - this time not for the famous Stew, but for something more typical, Danish Open Sandwiches. Got a plate with 6 different things, Heering (from a glass/boring) Meatball (very heavy) Pork (good and crispy) Salmon (good), "Sylte" (very boring) and friend fish(been in the Wishing Well!) Beer and wine was very usual. But as... More

Grøften is so typically Danish, with open sandwich, Heering, flæskesteg, frikadeller and Christmas beer. always nice serving, although very bussy, so book in advance, and come in good time.

131-year old Grøften, 'The Ditch', is one of Tivoli's oldest restaurants I was told. Grøften specializes in traditional Danish fare prepared as Granny herself would do. The food (local fish dish in my case) was really excellent and I had the 'Christmas Beer' which washed it all down VERY well. A great dinner with good colleagues from DK.

Tivoli gardens were at their best all lit up in the evening with some Christmas decorations and plenty of mulled wine etc around . This is a traditional restaurant serving traditional Danish fare and being end Nov the Christmas menus are around - their Luxury platter with mixed fish and pork for 2 was superb as was the accompanying Sancerre...
