Chose this establishment as there were people in it compared to the one opposite. It was a good choice and a most enjoyable experience. Service good although I did wait for initial service. Food was excellent. I will be back.

the food is ok, though considered good by danish standards, and overpriced, though not by danish standards as mentioned by another reviewer. my girlfriend grew up in esbjerg and always liked the place,so we would generally stop in for a meal whenever in town. on her most recent visit home went with her mother for lunch. to enjoy with the... In my opinion if you enjoy amazing food, Denmark it's not the place to be. But i had a good dinner in Sand's with proper Danish food, price is around 30€ person. When i say good dinner, of course I'm saying DK related, i wouldn't pay more than 15€ in a non-Scandinavian country for this type of meal

This is the place to visit if you are in Esbjerg and would like to try the traditional Danish food in a place that looks and feels like in the good old days many years ago - the restaurant reminds me a bit of the restaurant in the Danish TV-series "Matador", in case you know it. Friendly service and tasty... More

Good choice of dishes. Really tasty fish dishes. However we had a mix between us and all enjoyed. Price of drink was reasonable for Denmark. Definitely would visit again

This place is amazing, and I do not use the word amazing unless something really amazes me. From the outside, Sand's is just like any building in little Esbjerg, but when you walk in, you literally enter an atmosphere rich with history and great service. They really take care of you and also have great food. Steak Béarnaise is what... More

Food is notoriously expensive in Denmark, and for a nice restaurant like Sand's I would expect to spend twice what I did. Food was fantastic (I loved the Pariserbøf), the atmosphere was nice and subdued, and the service very friendly. I'd expect to pay more for such a meal in America, and that is really speaking to the excellent value... More

Family owned restaurant with honest and freshly prepared traditional food. Go for the "stjerneskud" a type of open face sandwich with fried, boiled and smoked fish garnished with plenty of shrimps. One of the very few places in Esbjerg (a relatively young city) where you get the feeling of being taken back in time. Highly recommended.

For lunch the restaurant Sands is at must in Esbjerg. I have been there several times with friends and customers, and it´s among the best lunch restaurants in town. In the evening the food is still good, but only average.

Had lunch in this lovely little restaurant on a mini-cruise to Esbjerg and have to say you won't find better in the town. Cosy yet spacious, as others have said, excellent and friendly service from waitresses who speak perfect English, and promptly served, delicious food. Also pretty reasonably priced considering it's in Denmark, and right next to the bus stop... More
