I have eaten at this restaurant several times during the last 35 years. And it always surprises me. Fantastic open sandwiches, kind and efficient service and fairytale surroundings! This is a place where you can travel 100 years back in time - and enjoy traditional Danish food when it is best. Do not miss this place!

Just order the smoerrebroed (the open-faced sandwiches) at lunch--you can't go wrong. The dinners are very good too.

Went there last week for my husband's birthday dinner using a gift voucher from a friend. I was so excited because I always wanted to eat in this old, charming looking restaurant. The voucher was for 3 course meal, starter, main course and desserts. The starter was salmon with rosmarine, which was okay, and the dessert was chocolate cake with... More

This restaurant dates from 1683 and is located in a beautiful half timbered house right in the centre of Odense. The setting and atmosphere reflects its history, lovely old period furniture, paintings etc., and professional polished service. The have their own take on a Kir Royal, Cava with raspberry syrup, which makes a nice aperitif. Their set menus change with... More

One of the best meals at one of the best restaurants in town. Highly recommended for the food and atmosphere. It is not cheap, but it is unforgettable. Go and you will not regret it.

The Old Inn (Den Gamle Kro) serves nice food in a very cosy dinning room. The prices are fair and the staff is friendly and service minded. Really nice place.

Excellent lunch plate with delicious herring, salmon, plaice and pork filet with creamy mushrooms. Nothing to complain, nice cosy atmosphere in very old house.

The setting and ambience, both outside visually and inside were top-notch – good décor, comfortable, not noisy, but enjoyable and you did not feel alone. Seating was easy with tables that can extend and allow for larger parties than the three of us there that night. The food was excellent, good natural flavours, delicate reductions and the meat cooked to... More

We were visiting Odense to see if things had changed in the last 50 years since my wife lived here when she was 6-10. Her sad was overseeing building tankers for Chevron. DGK was great back then and still is. We had the best meal of all of our time in Denmark. Service was great. Prices were deffinately more than... More

Really great food and service. Try the traditional Danish meal, with herring of all styles, plus fish, plus steak, plus cheese, then you will not need to eat for a week. The quality is excellent and the inn restaurant is very very nice inside. Try the meal with Danish beer and , or snaps. It is also situated near to... More
