Atmosphere: lovely, old charm, unique. Staff: very friendly, great service. Food: Best beef tenderloin I've EVER had.. And I'm from Alberta Canada! We are known for our beef. Beautifully served, flambeed at table side, with a delicious house made peppercorn sauce.

Fantastic traditional/ecological food in a fascinating frame. We are always supprised at the faultless quality and wide variety of dishes the ever plesant staff is presenting. Every time we visit Odense this is a must, our visit would not be complete otherwise. Enter the historic doorway and allow your eyes to take in a built-over courtyard setting you back hundreds... A unique building with character welcomed us to this very nice restaurant. A warm greeting was provided to both our Danish hosts and English guests and the staff provided an excellent and friendly service throughout the evening. Not speaking Danish the multi-lingual menu proved very helpful in making my selection from a comprehensive menu. All dishes were presented very nicely... More

We had lunch here. An very old kro (Danish restaurant) in the city centre. The historic location is worth to visit. The portions are small thou. One slice of rye bread with 3 sliced of cheese. My partner had a portion of cream cheese with 1 toasted slice of bread. The quality was not different from the supermarket. The majority... More

We found this place by chance and we were surprised about the nice atmosphere and the quality of meals. The service was attentive, the space quite evocative, and we have enjoyed a lot the experience. Both the open sandwiches (salmon served twice) and the Dannish meal were wonderful. In the second one there was an astonishing smoked cheese, unforgettable!

One of the few restaurants we found open over the Easter weekend so we could not be too fussy - but what a gem! Excellent meal of foie gras, duck breast with pumpkin puree, spring greens, potatos and a truffle sauce and rounded off with crepe Suzette and coffee and washed down with a very decent bottle of New Zealand... I have eaten at this restaurant several times during the last 35 years. And it always surprises me. Fantastic open sandwiches, kind and efficient service and fairytale surroundings! This is a place where you can travel 100 years back in time - and enjoy traditional Danish food when it is best. Do not miss this place!

Just order the smoerrebroed (the open-faced sandwiches) at lunch--you can't go wrong. The dinners are very good too.

Went there last week for my husband's birthday dinner using a gift voucher from a friend. I was so excited because I always wanted to eat in this old, charming looking restaurant. The voucher was for 3 course meal, starter, main course and desserts. The starter was salmon with rosmarine, which was okay, and the dessert was chocolate cake with... More
