The first time we went to this restaurant which was walking distance from our hotel we had fried zucchini and it was SO good. It was different than we have had it before. Everything else we had there was good and the price was right. It is across the street from a park and so it is a great place... More

Artemis is one of my favourite restaurants of all time and we always make our way here when we come to Kalamaki. Nico, Spyros & Tony always make us feel welcome this is why we love the place. My favourite is the Beef Stifado, everything is reasonably priced too. I do recommend Artemis to anyone thinking of coming to Kalamaki... More

Just round the corner from the main waterside tourist-trap restaurants, but still in the town. Overlooking the sea, but also overlooking a busy road. It's not scenic, it's not fancy, but the food is reliably good (the octopus in wine vinegar is delicious), and on Saturday night it appears to be where Samos families eat out (which might, if you're... This taverna seems popular with locals and the swing park is across the road. We had a good meal here, the veal in tomato sauce was very tasty. We later noticed a local christening party going on here. We like to eat where the locals eat and would go again. We had our choice of tables and as usual went... More

Me and my italian friend we visited this family run taverna and we ate grilled squids and octopus cooked in vinaigrette sauce and many other things without spending lots of money. Artemis is near the old port of Vathi town and is known among locals for the cleanliness and its delicious meals. Its menu includes a wide variety of dishes... More

We visited this restaurant one evening as it was quite close to our accommodation. Food was just ok and the restaurant lacked atmosphere. The staff weren't particularly friendly and we felt that they just wanted to serve our meal and get the table cleared for the next customer. On a scale of 1-10 we would give it a rating of... More

We came across this taverna whilst strolling one evening and decided to give it a try - I wish we hadn't! We travel a lot in Greece and can speak a little of the language - always a good way of breaking down barriers and as a result we usually find all tavernas very friendly. The service as Artemis was... More

I note that the reviews on this place are mixed. I guess that we were there on a good day. Food was very good, decent value.

We had been told about this and other tavernas by our Thompson rep/guide as one to try. Compared with others in town (especially Steps and El Greco) we were disappointed with Artemis Taverna – and we were not alone, having chatted with a few other couples we met in our hotel and in the bars. We just got the feeling... More

Although some of the roadside tables can catch the breeze, other tables can get stiflingly hot and uncomfortable. Careful observation suggested that many of the best tables are kept (not necessarily reserved beforehand) for locals. Reasonable value but the food is more-or-less what you would get in any other ‘standard’ taverna – Artemis is generally overrated but recommended by tour... More
