The restaurant is on the site where once stood a Venetian building which was linked to the residence on the south side through a doorway. It is believed that where the covered dining area stands was once a large storeroom and animal stable. The dining courtyard was indeed a courtyard and animal feeding area. In 2003 the chef and owner Harris Pavlakis decided to open the restaurant. The restaurant serves traditional local and greek dishes with local products and provides a friendly and romantic atmosphere. Our restaurant is certificated for Cretan Cuisine from The Greek Academy Of Taste and has won 2 gold medals one in the 9th contest of Cretan Traditional Cooking and the other in the 6th contest of Cretan Traditional Cooking.

Absolutely delicious!

Absolutely delicious food and a wonderful setting sitting outside in the little courtyard surrounded by flowers! The best food we ate in Crete!

We strolled past To Pigadi and liked its look, then saw it was rated #25 in Rethymnon on Tripadvisor so we decided to give it a try. There was no table available inside so we sat outside on the charming and narrow street, which turned out to be very much a pleasure. The food was fantastic. The baked lamb in... More

It is one of those restaurants that make you want to ask for recipes or sneak into the kitchen and watch. I have had 12 meals there over the past three years, and everyone I have eaten with were pleasantly surprised by this restauant that, unlike the surrounding ones, has to make no effort to attract diners. The evocative yard is... More

Fresh, well made local food, served in a beautiful courtyard in a picturesque alleyway (Xianthoudidou) in the old city. The young staff were genuinely warm and tolerated our vivacious 3.5 year old with impressive good humour

It's a little gem hidden in Rethymno' old city. Me and my wife went here after reading Tripadvisor reviews and enjoyed eating there. We shared a mixed appetizer platter (the best greek appetizers ever...) and chicken fillet topped with feta (delicious...). 35 euros total with complimentary raki and dessert. Very friendly and attentive staff. The location is one of the... More

Absolutely beautiful restaurant with the right ambience, lighting and light music in the background. We came with our children ages 12 and 18. We had delicious food although we could do with a larger portions for our mains. The staff were friendly and very helpful when we had trouble connecting to their wifi. Great for couples. We will definitely be... More

This was the best meal I had in Crete. A trip to Rethymnon is worth it just for the seafood saganaki here. Shrimp and mussels were cooked to perfection and the flavors of the sauce were simple and well balanced. I don't write reviews, but I had to for this place because of this dish. Moussaka was great too! Our... More

On our first occasion we turned up on spec and waiting staff accommodated us with outside table drinks before providing us a table for 4 in gorgeous discrete yet atmospheric surroundings The menu and quality of food were grand. The sea food stiffado, rabbit, meze for 2...where to stop... were spectacular [desserts likewise]. The front of house and from then... More

Arrived early as there was 8 of us in our group, lovely surroundings in the restaurant court yard. Had the mixed selection of starters and mini burgers with yoghurt all very nice. For main had the Pork with Cretan greens, very tender and tasted lovely. Other guests had the Risotto, sea bass and lamb chops. The staff were very happy... More
