Great food. Traditional Greek cuisine where you are invited to look in the kitchen at the already prepared dishes. Not touristic. It can be very busy during lunch.
Our hotel suggested this place since we looked for a nearby restaurant for our last dinner after a month in Greece. Excellent recommendation! We decided on trational Greek cuisine and found the quality as high as anywhere we had visited. Believe it or not, CLOTH table coverings and napkins. Nothing the least bit touristy about the atmosphere.
This place was just a few blocks from our hotel and suited us well for a good meal at a good price. The place was empty although several locals came to take-out food. The owner brought us to the kitchen to show the available options. We selected from what we saw. Our food was served at room temp but was... More
I came alone. They dragged me into the heart of the kitchen and offered a choice of seven dishes. I chose 1. Fava beans with spinach and smokey porky pancetta chunks-- and 2. Chicken breast rolled around tomato hearts--yes hearts-- and peppers fastened together by a mascarpone like feta. Sooooo good. milos would never make it in this town. My... More
We ate here because of the TripAdvisor recommendations. Arriving we were the only costumer for quite awhile. while enjoying our salad and wine is when we noticed that there was no other restaurant staff except our server (I mean none at all). I became rightfully concerned about how our server was going to cook our meal while also taking care... More
When we sat down, the owner insisted that we come with him to the kitchen to pick out our food. Many dishes were prepared (needed to be in advance otherwise cooking time would be too long). We literally picked out what we wanted by site. The food tasted like we were eating a home cooked dinner at a relatives home.... More
They know the best places to eat and there were plenty of them today at lunch! Nice Greek restaurant with goooooood food. In similar style to what we've experienced around Greece, they show you what has been prepared for the day (means it's fresh) and then you make your selection. We just came from Athens having seen Delphi, Kalambaka and... More
We arrived late into Iraklio and wandered down to this restaurant at 10 pm. The owner waved us in took us into his kitchen to have a look and explained all his dishes. We were ravenous and I could have eaten a horse ! I had veal in tomato sauce with a potato, spinach and artichoke side. The veal was... More
This was only a short walk from our hotel, and a welcome break at the end of a busy day. The owner is lovely, and even beckons you into the kitchen to view some of the local dishes available each night !
