We have reviewed the Despina before and were keen to visit again. We did, twice as usual to get a fair opinion and have some nice food! The view is fabulous across the bay, the waxing moon looked beautiful shining on the still water. The staff are friendly, and the resturant is frequented by Greeks which is always a good... More

Fantastic view across elounda in both daytime and nightime,a great choice of dishes, all of them delicious served by attentive waiters, look out for the free mezes at the start of your meal and the free dessert, all for a very reasonable price.

Lovely views but did not like people smoking around you when eating. wonderful food and great value for money. The atmosphere was warm and inviting such a lovely family establishment. Would highly recommend.

We arrived at the Despina before it had opened just for a drink but the food and service was so good and the view so stunning we stayed for a leisurely lunch in the sun - superb

We went here on several occasions this year and last and the food is of a very good standard, freshly prepared mere food and a barbecue for cooking meats etc. the service was excellent and there is always a complimentary pudding which comes with the bill.

Without a doubt the best food we have eaten in Elounda. Being slightly on the outskirts of the town it's less 'touristy' and has a great atmosphere. If you can tear your eyes away from the view and look at the bill no nasty shocks there either.

August 2013 was our first visit to Despina but thanks to great reviews, we were convinced to give it a try. The walk was a little longer than more central restaurants but it was definitely worth it; the view once you arrive is truly magnificent. The food was really great and wonderful value for money.

The owner Antonis grills meat and fish to perfection on charcoal. The rest of the family is cooking and serving a very wide choice of typical coastal Cretan food in a traditional setting offering indeed superb views over the bay. Prices are very correct and the whole experience is very relaxing, however lively and 100% Greek-island style.

We were recommended this restaurant by friends and were not disappointed. The mere dishes were lovely as were the grilled meats. It's a nice place to relax and have a meal without rushing. We had a lovely bottle of wine. We will defiantly go again
