A beautiful location, with stunning views over the bay. Over the last couple of years this restaurant has become decidedly more upmarket and hence more popular, so now unfortunately they're not keen for you just to come for drinks and sit and enjoy the view, which is a bit of a shame but I can understand in a way... however,... This place is magical if its not too hot sit outside on the big comfy sofa's by the side of the Canal. If its hot go under the shady canopy. We ate here a couple of times for lunch and on both occasions we ended up staying all afternoon with another carafe of wine soaking up the beautiful scenery. The... More

We visited on a rainy day that excluded the beach and a lot of dry sightseeing. I wanted to visit after re reading a section in my Crete travel book regards the ancient village now covered with water. The taverna was not busy, service was great and the folks friendly and helpful about what to be seen between rain showers.... More

We snorkelled for a couple of hours at the Olous ruins just in front of this great little taverna. Starving and thirsty we sat down to a feast of fried courgette, baked feta, bread and sardines. The food could not have tasted better and were given a plate of fresh fruit as a free desert. We could not have chosen... More

Dear Travellers, Kanali is one of my most favorite restaurants in the world and I love to travel ( several times per year). Excellent food!!! Try clams or cockles:) They are to die for! Lobster the best in the world! Not kidding! The most wonderful and humble chef, superb manager, Thassos. All and all wonderful!:) Must try!;)

This is a nice little taverna right alongside the sea. We only had a snack here so I can't comment on the main meals. I had the smallest Sardines that I have ever seen and the biggest plate of tarramasalata. Can't remember what my wife had only that she didn't like it

This was a great place for a meal. The food was good and the location fantastic. With many recommendations this was one place we went back again for another meal. Great sea food / Fresh bread and olive oil and fruit and raki to complete. The location is fantastic and away from the busy streets of restaurants. Staff were very... More

We sat for twenty minutes while a waiter laid empty tables and the proprietors enjoyed what seemed to be a very late lunch or early supper (we'd arrived at about 18:00, hoping for a carafe of wine). Eventually we got the message - no one wanted to serve us - and left.
