Once again we visited Chania for 2 weeks and Kariatis was visited 6 or 7 times during our stay. And once again it was most satisfactory. Delicious food, good wine, coffee and refreshments together with the surroundings and the pleasant staff, the visits were made cozy, romantic and well worth the money! We will be back many times when we... More

We chose Kariatis from the reviews I had read before we left. Having eaten in 14 different restaurants during our recent stay this was by far the best meal we had and wasn’t the most expensive. It’s very classy from the outside and the service is polished, professional and friendly. It would not be out of place in any major... More

This has to be one of the best restaurants in Chania. A quiet location just set back from the marina, this was a great find and we've been going back there for 10 years. The food is delicious. I just love the background music, it's perfect for the setting. And a lovely sweet wine with chocolates for dessert, makes a... More

This review was submitted the same day as one other review which (coincidentally) was also for another Italian restaurant in Chania town which has a much less favourable reputation. Both these recent reviews have been written SIX years after only one other previous review ever submitted by this particular reviewer, all this in itself appears rather suspicious. Their review is... All in all, this was a very nice experience. Tucked away a bit from the tourists in a calm area, with some of the best food on Crete, polite waiters and a romantic mediterranean atmosphere, this is probably one of the better restaurants of Crete, especially if you want italian or continental food for a change. Everything from appetizers to... More

We were recommended this Restaurant by the Barman of our hotel. He said it was really good. He was not lying. just off the harbour in a quiet location. We were celebrating our 21st wedding anniversary, I must admit I can not think of anywhere else to celebrate the next other than at kariatis. The food and wine were amazing,... More

Well - maybe its a bit awkward to go to an italian restaurant when your visiting Crete, but this one is absolutely a must-go. Located at the harbour - but a little away from all the touristtraps. Nice sourroundings and very good italian food - dont miss out on the pasta with seafood! If your into a little lighter food,... More

Just beyond the mosque in Chania, a few steps away from the port, but still with views of the port and lighthouse. Excellent Italian food including pizza and pasta but with a good range of well cooked main courses especially lovely beef fillet - unusual for Greece and Crete. Excellent wine choice and knowledgeable waiters to help with selection. great... More

We found this very late into our holiday a few years ago - basically it's the reason we keep going back to Chania!! When you're bored of Sovlaki and goats cheese salad (which you do) this is a god send. This is the only fine dining we have ever found in Chania or even Crete. Well worth a visit. Seafood... More
