This restaurant was our favorite in Chania, and was right down the street from where we stayed. The food and atmosphere was great, service was good, AND they had a sense of humor! We ate dinner here twice during our 4-night stay. The first time we shared staka, boureki, and cretan rice with lamb and chicken. It came with yogurt... More

This place had the best home cooked meals and the staff and owners were so friendly and accommodating, I will be back the next time I'm in Crete!

Everything about this restaurant is outstanding. The setting and ambiance is authentic and cozy. The food is fresh, cooked well, and tastes amazing. The waiters (George and his older mentor) were the BEST. They took care of us as if we were the only patrons in the place (We weren't). We would visit this restaurant over and over again, if... We ate here on our first night in Chania. A great introduction to Cretan food and hospitality! The food was simple and delicious, with a particular mention for the Cretan Salad and the Pork Gyros with Staka. I'd highly recommend ordering the local red wine - it really works with the food, as local wine should. Light, pleasantly fruity, with... More

We ate here on our first night, and as it was busy we booked a table. we were a bit disappointed to come back and find although there was a table reserved it hadn't been laid. The cloth was dirty and other tables had wine glasses with serviettes and candles. We were given none of this just a knife and... More

We ate lunch here during a visit to Chania Town. The location is lovely – down a little side alleyway which is cool and shady from the summer sun. Prices were reasonable and food was excellent.

As many other lovely dining places in Chania, Steki restaurant – Taverna, is well hidden in one of the very vibrant and narrow little streets, alleys, of Chania. I would recommend the visit of the place for the place itself, it certainly beats the food, even though the food itself is not bad at all, nothing special and extraordinary really,... More
