One of the nicest places in the old city of Chania to enjoy wine with friends. You'll love the location and the food variety offered. The prices are fairly reasonable and the overall quality I'ld say excellent. Only thing to have in mind - since I've visited this restaurant more than afew times - is that occasionaly you may have... On a cold winter night, a good bottle of wine and a plateau with cheese and cold cuts. A great experience.

A chance to try something slightly different. The parmesan and Chanterelle mushroom pastry nest was delicious. In place of the usual complimentary Raki after dinner, we were brought a delicious desert wine. definitely worth a try.

During a recent stay on Crete, I visited Vineria twice for a late-night light supper. We enjoyed an excellent platter with local cheeses, meats and fruits accompanied by a fine rosé, sitting outdoors in a small, quiet square surrounded by historic buildings from the Venetian and Ottoman periods. The atmosphere was great and the staff friendly and helpful. I can... More

Loved our dinner there on a Sunday night. The narrow street was devoid of tourists (except us). The chef came out and talked to us casually but knowledgeably about the food. He explained what was and wasn't available that night and steered us to: off-the-menu mussels, drunken fig salad, pancetta main course, and wild mushroom risotto. He then recommended two... More

We were amazed at the sophistication and true love of local ingredients, slow cooked but ready to eat despite our early arrival, this beats any food we have had in Greece or most any city. We live in California and appreciate healthy delicious and fresh food . Vineria was all that and healthy too. Associated with a nearby wine store... More

If your coming here for a typical risotto or beer battered chicken you'll be disappointed. They have no English menu so our waiter has to patiently translate and we settled on chicken cooked in beer and a rice and pork dish. I have never tasted such a strange combination of flavors but as a whole it was wonderful. Chicken with... More

Nobody proposed this place and we found it out ourselves. We liked it so much that we returned the next night again. Very cozy and sweet, nice local wines (I did not try the international wines, however the restaurant is being operated by a very friendly lady, who owns a very nice wine cellar, so I guess they would be... Our last Visit to Vineria 36 was very disappointing, we've been there the year before as well and we had very good memories from the place but this year's visit disappointed us. The risotto was NOT a risotto it was more like pre-cooked fried rise to me than a risotto, the pasta aglio olio was neither aglio nor olio it... More

Pleasant atmosphere, very nice salads, disappointing fresh pasta, average taste of red sauce beef and definitely not the wine list you should expect from a place called vineria. I can excuse anything in the first try but not the amateur service.
