Excellent!

We ate here last night for the first time and we will most definitely be returning. The food here is excellent, my husband and I are not strict vegetarians but really this is for everyone. We were served one delicious course after another. Our main dish was chestnut stifado which was so tasty, and... read more

Very tasty bio food and extremely friendly service. You are given the choice of ordering half-plates if you like trying different stuff. My favourite is chestnut stifado. Very tasty salads too!!!

I can't emphasize how much of an amazing experience it was to visit To Stachi. We are so thankful to Stelios and Zeta for their hospitality during our visit, and of course for the beautiful unpretentious, slow-cooked vegetarian food on offer. After we left we had that "warm fuzzy" feeling... almost as if we'd just been to our grandparent's house... More

The owner of Stachis is a truly charming personality, genuine person and incredible food! It is all made with love and care, he even makes his own bread every morning and cooks according to what his garden gave him this week! Real Cretan food, true cretan hospitality.

This is a family run restaurant in every way. You feel as if you are a special guest in the arms of the husband and wife who run the restaurant. The chef puts his own spin on local dishes and You can't go wrong with ordering. We also enjoyed Chef Stelios' company as he sat down and talked about eating... More

We accidentally came across this family run bistro just behind the main run of shops/bars that line the edge of the Old Venetian Harbour. We were on a day trip from a cruise ship, so we were most definitely NOT hungry, but we were tempted in by the appearance of the place and the hospitality of the family plus the... More

This simple, little family restaurant is special. Although vegetarian, it is not just for vegetarians. Anybody who loves food will love eating the unique local flavors of Crete. Unlike many other restaurants nearby, your food will be lovingly prepared fresh -- no frozen food, nothing canned, nothing heated in the microwave oven (we visited on a slow day and the... More

I've been in Chania for around six weeks now and eaten at several restaurants around town. This is the best by a very long way. So much care and passion goes into the food preparation, from the choice of fresh local ingredients (Stelios has been known to spend mornings in the mountains looking for a very particular herb) to the... What a little gem, this place isn't flash or pretentious, just a simple family run restaurant with food that comes from the heart. This daughter and father duo were incredibly friendly and warm hearted, amazing service and amazing food. We tried a bunch of different things on the menu, the eggplant with raisin was definitely memorable! Great for vegans and... More
