We came here after two scuba dives using the Dive Centre around the corner. The lamb chops, saganaki, dorado, fried anchovies, calamari were great, as were the cold beers. I'm not a fish fanatic but they have their own boat moored right there and the freshest fish is explained by the staff. Whatever is frozen due to the season is... More

We prefer the restaurants down here in the fishing port of Chania rather than the ones with promoters outside in main port. We asked the owner what fish he had available and he took us into the kitchen to see what he had. There was a choice of about 10 - 15 different kinds of fish in a various sizes... More

We found this restaurant on our first night in Chania. We had stopped to look at a shark which was in the stern of a fishing boat. Whilst gazing, the proprietor of the restaurant, Yanis, asked me if I would like meal of fresh shark. It turned out to be the best fish meal I have ever tasted. There are... More

We were browsing the Chania harbour for a restaurant outside the touristtrap area and landed om this pleasant place. We were served a really nice fish dish facing the boata on the harbour. It's really worth a visit.

I have eaten with my family a lot of times there. Its a family tavern and the owners are both professional fisherman with there own fishing boat. So the fish are very fresh from Chania waters and the prices are very- very good. Try octopus on the grill, sea urchins, lobster and ask them for the dish of the day.(depends on... More

Unless you love loud music and/or really trendy bars and restaurants, I would highly recommend walking to te quieter end of the waterfront. If you do so, you will come across this absolutely amazing fish taverna. It's family run and the food is absolutely gorgeous. The owners really couldn't do enough to help and were not at all aggressive about... More

After a walk round the old town, we chanced on this for lunch but liked it so much we returned later for an evening meal! It is a short walk from the noise and frenzy of the touristy end of the harbour but soooo much nicer and quieter, the view of the harbour and lighthouse uninterrupted by milling crowds. Like... More

Please do yourself a big favor and ignore all the hype about the more "famous" waterfront fish tavernas you might have read about in the guidebooks and walk right past the people who aggressively "hawk" them. Two fisherman brothers manage "Vasiliko", a fish taverna on the eastern side of Chania's Old Venetian Port, that has been in the Kopasis family... More

This is a great fish restaurant in the old part of Chania. It is authentic and the owners are also fishermen and the fish is really fresh. If any thing you order is frozen they tell you. This is an original family business and they have managed to avoid the awful modern face of some of the harbour restaurants. The... More

Three stars may be too low but we only had calamari and a Greek salad. Both were good, the staff were attentive, and the prices fair. The person at the front kept people from bothering us and also helped the table next to us keep the cat away. The restaurant faces the water and is pleasant - typical of many... More
