Brunch on a Sunday afternoon

Last Sunday I visited skoufos & oinos for brunch with a Greek-American friend of mine and we really had a nice time. The food reminded us of New York.... Being there again in the past , but first time for brunch...try the eggs Benedict... Heaven!!!! And then pancakes....

Not a traditional Greek restaurant. A less extensive menu but more than enough choice and everything is exquisite. Excellent staff recommendations for meals and accompanying wines. Definitely would come back.

We had eaten here in past years and found it excellent. It is not a traditional taverna but a boutique restaurant. The ingredients in the dishes are second to none in the town and would merit and excellent rating. Unfortunately, we ordered two meals, one of which would take longer to cook than the other. The chef prepared the shorter... More

We were told about this restaurant by the owner of the villa we were staying in, otherwise we would not have found it - and it was the highlight of our 'food orientated' holiday. Closed during the Summer months they open for the local clientele in October. Simple classic Italian menu based on excellent ingredients and carefully selected local wines.... More

Fine food and excellent advice on wine. Off the main thoroughfare, beautifully decorated and thoughtful presentation. Apparently closing through the.main summer months but if you are visiting later in the season a must to sit inside and enjoy the ambiance and great food. Light, extremely tasty and not Greek.

A local told us about this place, actually he was our launderer near the harbor plaza, told us his parent eat there most nights. Almost no signage, nothing advertising it, truly, all about locals. A truly remarkable meal, I left full, but wanting more. That was our last meal in Chania, and if I were ever to return to Crete,... More

We visited Skoufos & Oinos twice on this holiday having been here on our last holiday 2 years ago. The quality of the food and especially the wine make it a place to eat. They do not serve portions that might choke a horse as many tavernas do. Their portions are just right for a couple to fully enjoy a... More

My wife and I just had an really excellent meal. Flambeed prawns and the grilled vegetable starter were exemplary and the sea bream and pork fillet were great main courses. The wine recommendations were out standing- he knows his wines !

Given the great food you can eat very inexpensively within throwing distance of this restaurant I don't know why they charge the prices they do for what you get. I found it very pretentious, the crazily expensive wine that actually has the ml marker on the outside as heaven forbid you get more than what you're supposed to, no salt... More
