Choice seafood - house special fish soup, cuttlefish and sea urchin

This place was recommended by a local. It is located in the far right side of the harbor. We enjoyed our late lunch at Antigohn, we tried their house special fish soup made of svirida, which was very good. Menu also had cuttlefish and sea urchin which you don't find in every restaurant. The view is... read more

We have visited Antigone in August 2015. We had the grilled octopus (they are boiling the octopus and after this they grill it!!!!) some fried calamari, one cuttlefish with tomato and greens and beet roots. The beet roots came to our table frozen! The calamari was also freeze-dried although they said us that it was fresh! The octopus was disgusting!!!!!... More

We had the fried seafood platter and some steamed fish. Food is OK, but service was slow. Nothing special about this restaurant. Also, there were a lot of cats milling around the area when we went. Don't go if you are allergic to cats.

Good location on the harbor amid a sea of ordinary eateries... This one is really good. Looking out to the sea, across from the Maritime Museum, attentive service, good fresh food, reasonably priced, and very Cretan.

Of all the places in Chania where I ate, this was without the best food and the best service. Also in the quieter area of the harbour, no one tried to drag us in but we were greeted by a very friendly waiter (proprietor?) who made recommendations as to what was best on the menu, and invited us to view... Mediocrate food and slow service. Place looks nice food and service was not so good and we had to wait our bill almost 45 minutes.

No joke - one of the best meals of my life! We had the fish soup - like heaven in a dish! We come to Chania every summer and this is one of regular stops. The service is friendly, and the fish is always fresh. It's tucked away at the far end of the port, but it is worth the... More

Somebody recommended this place but we had a very unpleasant experience here. They are obviously just cashing in on their great location on the port and are doing everything to cut corners. How can you serve frozen calimari when the fish markets are right next to you and there is plenty of calimari caught every morning in the Mediterranean? The... More

The servers wee having trouble speaking English so probably that was the biggest issue because we asked for grilled fish thinking it would something fresh off the boat....I mean, what could go wrong? Instead we got a mountain of deep fried I don't know what it was....some of the smaller sardines or something were so cooked it was like greasy... More
