Chrisostomos has given us the best dining experience in Chania. Slightly off the very busy stripe on the old port where the offer is more touristic, the restaurant has an inside and outside area. We tried both and they are equally enjoyable as the ambience inside is well kept and kind of typical. The food is excellent, they have a... More

This restaurant has won many awards and when you dine here, you can understand why. The service is fantastic and the prices are very reasonable. Located at the far end of the port, people come here only for the food. Not sea food, but traditional Greek meat dishes. All delicious. You cannot go wrong. Definitely worth finding and recommended to... More

I come to Chania with forty years of experience in Greece and while I am not Greek, I know what good authentic Greek food and hospitality are all about. If you are a first timer, Hrysostomos will please you. There is nothing "bad" about the food; just over-cooked, questionable cuts of meat in kill-your-appetite proportions. For a hefty "feed" of... Great traditional sfakian food, & that's a good thing. Huge portions - and staff that are good & kind enough to say when you've over-ordered. & even the bread is quite special too... we had two nights in Chania: ate here both times. I'm not quite sure why I'd ever go anywhere else. It's not on the main harbourfront... and... More

Perhaps not the most scenic of spots, but by far the best service we received in two weeks in Chania. Friendly and perfectly paced with some wonderful home cooking. Not to be missed as the locals who filled every table would definitely agree!

In case you are visiting Chania town in the island of Crete, then you have to experience real traditional Cretan cuisine at Crysostomos in the old Venetian harbor. Most of dishes are prepared in wood oven. Do not forget to try staka, syglina with beans, dako, tsigariasto lamb and kaltsoynia.

We loved this place so much we came twice. Their specialty is food cooked in a wood-fired oven, and trust me it is delicious. I tried a pork stuffed with cheese and carrots that was so great I get hungry every time I think about it, and my wife had a juicy and tasty steak. At the end of the... More

This was my first meal on the first night of this year's stay in Chania ... excellent food and excellent service. It's not on th e main road of the Old Town's port, but who cares. I recommend it, and I will be back there to eat again next summer.
