Great fresh & homemade food

Runned by a local family this local tavern was really typical. My husband and I arrived here by our recommendation of our "Guiarama" Spanish travel guide. We werent disappointed at all. The food was good and tasty and we enjoyed the fact of being in a non touristic place. 100% recommended.

This taverna from the outside looks slightly run down, however do not be deceived as this is a gem hidden in the back streets just off the harbour front. The food is home made with good quality ingredients and big portion sizes. Compared to the more tourist destinations this offers value for money with traditional Greek produce.

A ordinary ristaurant, but very kind service, tipical greek dishes, fresh ingredients cooked in a deliceous way; the most important think: the location, two minutes from the Giannizzeri Mosque, is far from turism, noise and crowed place.... a very nice dinner!!!!

We took a walk on a rainy day and ended up just behind the harbour. Found this familyrun, very nice and typical greek restaurant where you still go in to the kitcehn and have a look on the food before you order. We had a great mix of slowcooked meat and vegetables. And ofcorse a greek salad, and retsina.

Love coming to Doloma. Fantastic people who are hospitable and friendly and the food is unbelievable. I come to Crete every year and we always make several trips to Doloma. The food is delicious and fresh. Can't rate this place enough. If you came to Crete, head for Hania and get here. You will not be disappointed.

We found this restaurant thanks to Lonely Planet guide and we fell in love with this place. The delicious home-made food served by lovely people. Choose your food directly from the open kitchen, you don't need to check the menu. We ate here 4 times during our two weeks visit in Chania and never been disapointed. If we come to... More

Recommended by Rough Guide and it turned out to be better than we expected. We went there three times during our stay and were pleased every time. It is a small family run taverna with home-made food and friendly service. Prices are quite reasonable and the after dinner treats are fabulous. You won't be disappointed.

We decided to come here because it was featured on the Lonely planet guide. It's not on the main street so it is not recommended if you love people watching. BUT, if you want to taste GREAT traditional greek food, this is the place to go. You can choose straight from the kitchen (the restaurant inside is an 'open space'... More

We found this place when walking from the harbor to the town in Chania. So different from the ones in the harbor, so we decided to have lunch here. It felt more like eating in somebody's terrace rather than a restaurant. It serves greek home cooking, simple and tasty, reasonable price and portion.

Forget the menu, choose from the kitchen and you won't be disappointed! This restaurant is a little haven set back from the tourist area on the harbour. The cost was very reasonable too. Its a real Cretan place not done up for the tourist so if you like glamour and glitz it won't be for you but if you like... More
