Relaxed and romantic

This restaurant is totally worth the taxi ride out of Chania, c. €5. The setting is so charming, and so typically Greek. Their olive oil is particularly delicious, and ask for some lime and salt to add for dipping bread, yum! The homemade red wine is very good too, and really works with fish. A... read more

As people have said, the setting of this restaurant is wonderful. Our table was on the beach, with the waves lapping close (but not too close!) at our feet. The restaurant is on the outskirts of chania and unless you are staying nearby, it would be best to take a taxi. At peak times and weekends it is best to... More

The setting of this fish taverna is magical, with the sea breaking over rocks on one side and a backdrop of the old tanning buildings. Doesn't sound nice, but if you like old, historic buildings and atmosphere, this place has it in spades. The menu, unsurprisingly, is fish and shellfish. Although I would expect this in a fish taverna, it... More

Even though is not located at the old town, it totally worth going. If you are going at night take a cab, you might not arrive walking. I love to cook and eat, travel most of the world. I was surprise by the fresh small shrimp fried that we had, really tasty and you can eat it all. The fresh... More

We were recommended this fish restaurant by a local and went there on a stormy evening. Due to the rather bad weather, the terrace was closed and we had to sit inside. We were the only non-greek guests and after asking for the different fish, the chef took us to the kitchen and we could choose our dinner right from... More

I cannot begin to explain how good this restaurant is. First of all the view is like no other. Then the food blows you away and finally the people there are fantastic. We came here in May whilst scouting our wedding locations and fell instantly in love with the place. From that moment on Niktarius, with his lovely wife and... More

This is an excellent fish tavern with amazing scenery. You literally sit one meter from the sea. Food is great and fresh. Service is great. Dont miss it. Take a taxi or drive there not walking distance. I recommend it without any hesitation,

This restaurant was recommended by the owner of our boutique hotel, a local to Chania. It is a little hard to find, you park and enter from the back and walk around to find outdoor dining directly on the beach of the Gulf of Hania (Chania). The restaurant is nestled among the old tanneries and is rustic but somehow elegant.... More

We did not know what to expect and had our breath taken away a bit by the setting at sundown. Beautifully and simplistically done. We had delicious appetizers and main fish dishes. Well-prepared. Definitely recommend to anyone visiting Chania.

This modest-looking collection of wicker chairs and wooden tables on the beach behind ramshackle ruins of old tanneries is, in fact, the best place we found to eat fish in the whole of Greece. Its big disadvantage is that it does not open until about 7.30pm (no lunches), it may not be open at all in the winter, and, if... More
