Very nice restaurant.

This restaurant is very nicely located in one of the narrow passageways in the old town, backing onto the old city wall. It is located at a bend in the passageway where the passageway widens to give plenty of room between tables and between the diners and those passing along the passageway. The... read more

Moutoupaki is set at the back of the old town by the city wall. The tables are not cramped together & the atmosphere is very pleasant. The staff were very friendly & helpful. The food was very good - can recomend the Greek Plate - at 18 Euro for 2 people extremely good value & the local Creten wine from... More

This tavern is ideally located at a corner in one of the narrow alleyways in the Old Town and is a great place to sit and watch everyone else touring the narrow streets walk past. We received a very warm welcome and enjoyed good quality food and service at a reasonable price and I would certainly not hesitate to recommend... More

This restaurant is located in a more secluded street in Chania. If you are exploring the lovely, quiet streets of Chania, you'll find better places to go than this one. I think they only heated the spinach pie that we ordered in a toaster oven. They served it while it was still cold on the inside. I ordered a carbonara,... More

Wandering around town, we came across Moutoupaki Taverna which was open when others were not. Being in a corner, under the old wall, it was naturally cool and shielded by overhead vines. Plus, people walking through were not brushing against the table (as in other more central places). The meal was good and we had a very relaxed and enjoyable... More

Discovered this gem on our first trip to Chania years ago - it is the first place we go to each time we return. Lovely family run taverna. The house wine and olive oil is grown and produced by the family. We have only ever had lunch as it is such a beautiful setting in the day time - but... More

Avoid. We ordered dolmadakias as a starter, the rice inside was quite hard and they were just burnt and broken. Then a greek salad, which was OK (bravo eh!). But then came the worst, we ordered each a different type of cretan lamb dish with potatoes. Besides the fact that they were as waterish as soup, there were hairs on... More

My wife and I strode upon this restaurant as we walked the narrow alleys of old Chania town. The fact this restaurant does not really stand out from any other makes this a nice little find. It's situated at the corner of an alley which enables it to have a depth of seating that is not really interrupted by passers... More
