When we walked up to look at the menu we were greeted, but it wasn't overly aggressive. My husband decided to order a dish with goat (or maybe it was lamb). When he placed his order the owner looked a bit concerned and explained the greens it was cooked with would maybe not be liked by everyone. He still wanted... More

We stopped here for a lunchtime snack, but it's more of a restaurant, so we decided not to stay. The owner was very nice and said we could sit as long as we wanted to. The result was we went back in the evening, had a very warm welcome, attentive service and nice food. It is worth searching this one... More

The restaurant Is located in a really nice side street with grape ranks as a roof. The staff is really pleasant compared to the exceptionally annoying staff along the waterfront. The food is very nice, and they have nice local beers (microbrewery in Chania) and wine, and it's good value for your money. Worth a visit.

No need for cajoling here, the tables are full and that is because the quality of the food speaks for itself. This is a family run business, where the culinary skills have been passed down through the generations. This is Greek food at its very best. We have eaten at all three of these tavernas in this street and rate... More

We were told that this is what the name means, and it certainly was, despite being along a small lane, probably because it's not that heavily used - although at the end of some of the more pleasant backstreets of the old town southwest of the harbour. It is a little way from the harbour but miles away from being... More

Moutoupaki is a bit off the beaten path about 5 min. up from the port but worth ever step. The setting is along a cobblestoned street, sheltered from the sun by a wonderful arbor. We ate at night so had the addition of a full moon, blooming bougainvillea and mild temperatures. The food is fresh from fish to vegetables to... More

Avoid some of the tourist traps in the harbour area and within minutes you will discover a great restaurant where you can sit outside and not feel you are in a thoroughfare. The service is so friendly and luckily not one of these places where you feel you are being pressurised to sit down and eat. Food was delicious and... More

we had the mezze plate for 2 which was excellent, stuffed aubergines and moussaka were amazing - the hummous was the only slight let down but overall a really delicious meal in a beautiful setting. Free little dessert and Raki, very friendly staff, highly recommended!
