Fantastic local taverna

We spent 4 days at Chania with my wife and kids during our summer holidays and chose Tamam for the first dinner based and numerous recommendations. Definitely the right choice! Visited in july 2015 after some friends recomended that it's one of those places you cannot miss. To be honest it was very late in the night ( close to midnight), so we asked whether they still serve food ( still almost all the tables were taken). Unfortunately, the quality was very average and the people working there were giving... More

Very good restaurant in the middle of Old Town. The food is great, try the calamari filled with feta cheese! Greek or Cretan Salad to start. Seat outside and enjoy the people passing by.

We ate here for both lunch one day, and three days later came back for dinner. My husband loved the kebabs! Great meal and wine!

Great starters! If you want to taste Greek food, go there and order some starters to taste everything. Reasonable prices, a very polite service and restaurant situated in a beautiful, narrow street of Chania. At the end you are given a glass of raki to taste before you go.

Good location very close to the harbor, but not in the same line as all the other restaurants in the harbor (with lots of people...). Very tasty lamb chops!

A really great place for a quick and healthy light meal with fresh zingy salads and foods locally sourced and cooked to perfection. This place is a genuine example of what Crete has to offer in the culinary stakes. Absolutely delicious, we will return to enjoy all other dishes on their menu. Highly recommended.

My wife and I ate here twice during a week's stay in Chania. It was probably our favourite eatery (just narrowly beating Portes, which is also excellent). The setting is superb; first time we sat outside on the busy streetside, second time we managed to get a table inside the old converted hammam (which is a bit hot and sticky... More

We really enjoyed eating at Tamam. The food is mostly cretan traditional cuisine with a middle-eastern twist. We particularly enjoyed the Iranian rice as well as the Giant Beans (Gigandes) and the signature Tamam salad. Our kids enjoyed their grilled meat dishes. The ambiance and decor is very unique and historical. We look forward to coming here again next year.

We had some fantastic traditional Greek food at the restaurant. Fantastic atmosphere sitting outside in the old village. Try the squash croquet as a starter and Gyros as one of the main dishes.
