Description: Kimolia is a cozy, colourful and artistic spot in the centre of Athens. Open from December 2011, it hosts various performances and exhibitions all year long. Jazz & Blues tunes with the occasional rock hits, cheap drinks and special cocktails along with a small variety of cold dishes and salads, this place is a must for all-day long! Don't miss the chance to check out the cute room in the back along with all the paintings that are crafted by the owners, Mrs Catherine Vayena and Renata Proestopoulou!

One of the sweetest cafes I've ever been, with lovely music and home environment. Very close to Syntagma square, you will find classic drinks and beverages but also home made sweets and Greek coffee! Enjoy!

My wife and I were in Athens, we were looking for a low key place to relax and enjoy being out in the evening. The Art Cafe hit the spot, it has a real Bohemian vibe, a locals place. The music was Delta blues, quiet conversations at the tables, good sandwiches and spiced wine. The baristas were friendly and chatty,... More

As kimolia means chalk in Greek I was very delighted to find boards and chalk in the place. The decor is marvelous. There are three separate rooms to sit which was very convenient for us who were 8 with children and wanted our privacy. There is variety in coffees and juice and the staff were quick. The children played with... More

I had an iced cappuccino and a Greek salad, both were good. The atmosphere is also very nice. Great place to chill out. I found it a bit too expensive and the food was very good but not good enough for an excellent rating. Still highly recommended!

It is indeed a nice cafe with art flavor. The trouble is it is not well ventilated and people really smoke a lot inside. No signs warn you about it. Hence, if you are a smoker, this is a place to be. If not, and especially if you are with children, you would better stay away.

Thank you for taking this time to review Kimolia for us! It's a pleasure to see both sides, good and less good ones, especially the latter, as an opportunity for improvement. We would therefore like to take this chance to point out that we respectfully disagree with the topic of your critique. We have had lots of families in Kimolia,... More

Very nice café located at the centre of Athens (near Syntagma square). The decoration and atmosphere are very appealing. Tips: The table at the back is very cosy and isolated from the rest of the shop. Ideal if you want some privacy. Try one of the teas they offer-their names and taste are amazing!

A welcome break on a walking tour of Athens in the hot, early autumn sun before climbing the Acropolis to the Parthenon. Nestling in the back streets just between the Acropolis and Syntagma Square, Kimolia is the very essence of cafe society serving at a casual pace excellent, refreshing beers, wines and soft drinks with snack food to appeal to... First time I visited Kimolia I found the place fantastic but my moments were spoiled from the really loud music coming later. I don't believe it suits the place for such music volume. I gave the place a second chance and it surprised me. Not only they didn't pump up gue volume so much this time but the place had... More

I often work from Kimolia. Great classical decor, real Greek coffee (as opposed to machine-made), friendly staff and a funny little dog who keeps to herself. Go here for your central Athens coffee experience.
