Very nice experience

Visited this restaurant after recommendation by a friend. Nice and clean restaurant softly decorated. Staff very friendly and attentive. Food was very good. After eating we were offered a free dessert which was a nice thing to do. Prices reasonable but higher than other sushi bars in the area.

After an overkill of Greek salad/moussaka / kebabs etc it makes a change to have some other food and sushi is pretty light. Local friends rate this small Japanese restaurants highly but tell me it's expensive compared to the competition. Well they must be doing something right as there is always a line. Well on a night that I was... More

We ate here twice. Being Asian, we just miss eating rice and happened to stumble upon this place and we were not disappointed. Food were excellent! Would love to go back again.

Have been to Furin Kazan several times for lunch, now the first time for dinner. A very good place for Sushi & Sashimi and good fresh food. They play with herbs, as well as sauces and the food is spicy and delicious. Service is nice and the waiters are very attentive. I can highly advice to eat at this Japanese... More

If you must have your sushi, this is a good place. The sushi's are fresh and it's almost always full. Can be pricey, comparatively but it is fresh. And that counts.

After about 6 years away from Athens, we returned to one of our favourite restaurants with very dear friends with whom we shared delightful meals in the past. Now there are many sushi options that did not exist then, but we were happy to find that Furin Kazan is still so good that it is thriving. It is in the... More

Went here after a walk in Athens downtown. We tried the food and it was not bad, but also nothing special. The Sushi is below average, but the rest acceptable.

I really can't relate to these people here. We went on a Thursday around 1pm. The menu was very sticky. We took some different nigiri's, they had fat tuna so that was kinda special. 1 piece 7 euro. But nothing special, across the street you had "Koi Sushi" for 4 euro you had 6 nigiri's and the chef would cut... More

Tends to get too crowded at times but I love it. Even though it isn't thought to be a real dish, I could it their spicy pork ramen forever! Wish their prices allowed me to visit more often!

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
