My favorite restaurant downtown

I have visited Furin Kazan many times since last year and it has become one of my favorite Asian corners in The city center.. The place is nice clean and modern but really small and many times we had to wait because it was full of people .. However the service is great and food tastes good.. The... read more

This is probably one of the first Sushi restaurants to open in Athens but unlike many other restaurants this place really keeps its quality to the same level as it was on day 1. The prefect place for fresh sushi and or other Japanese warm dishes. Really recommended to go and then visit all the neighboring bars on Ipitou street... More

We ended up here since the near-by Japanese restaurant Koi which was chock-o-block on a Tuesday night! We easily found a table although I think this was mere luck. My main negative point goes for the service. It took them too long to get the order and this after a few gestures to get the waiter's attention. Otherwise the food... More

It's located in the center of Athens, so it was packed. The service was really fast though and we were seated within 10mins. The environment and service team of the place were friendly and welcoming. We tried almost all the maki (teka, sake, tempura, california) and nigiri (maguro, sake, ebi, tako, unagi) and they were all delicious! They were fresh,... More

If this is the most highly rated sushi restaurant in Athens, then maybe, hopefully, we had bad luck. The sushi was of one of the worst qualities I have ever had. The rice was mushy, seaweed chewy, and fish was dry and nearly off. And the roe nigiri was a saggy mush. My boyfriend and I dared not touch this... More

Furin Kazan is one of the must go places in Athens if you want top quality sushi. I have been to many Japanese restaurants around he world and I can assure you they serve some of the best sashimi I have ever tasted.

Furin Kazan is one more japanese restaurant of the center. Not bad for sure, but not excellent also! and a bit too pricey. But the place is nice, and the service too. Tastewise it has a standard, but i prefer some other places of Syntagma area.

Thank Dimitri S

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
