Tasty Indian food and located very close to Syntagma Square.

We were staying at the Cypria Athens and the Indian Kitchen was just a 4 to 5 minute walk to this restaurant. The place is just off a busy street. It has a nice ambiance. The food quality was excellent. Good cleanliness and reasonably large portions. The lady who was moving around managing the... read more

We could smell the curry every time we went to our room so we had to try it out. We had a nice friendly welcome and we were offered water and drinks straight away. You could see the chefs cooking behind a screen it all looked spotless. The onion bhaji was good with yoghurt and mango chutney dip. We had... More

After my return from India, I was searching intensively to find an indian restaurant with real indian flavour. Indian Kitchen is the closest possible to it. A lot of excellent vegetarian dishes (most of restaurants in India are vegetarian only), several great meat ones and of course perfect Gulab Jamun, a desert that all have to try. Last but n... More

The food was really very Indian and served quickly. Service was good. One could sit inside or on the pavement. We sat outside and found this enjoyable.

Small and cosy restaurant with many indian guests. Unfortunately the naan oven was out of order but the other bread and curry was great. Good alternative if you would like to get something else besides greek cuisine.

They have very nice yellow dhal . Roti are fresh and crisp. Lassi is out of world worth having. Also channa was very nice. Food is reasonable . Only rice needs improvement. Overall very nice food and very centrally located.

I was on a 2 week break in the Balkans and Greece was our last destination. I was craving for something spicy and some rice as this is our everyday meal. (we have been having bread and salad for the past 2 weeks) and finally we found Indian Kitchen. It really suited our taste buds and absolutely on time! our... More

I am Indian , and was badly looking for an Indian restaurant in Athens! Then I came to know about this hotel from my guide! When we reached the restaurant , it was a calm and quiet place yet neat and clean one.. We ordered Lamb and rice delicacy and to our surprise, we were overwhelmed by the quality of... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
