We were advised by our hotel to eat at Ambrosia but were really disppointed: meat too cooked and dry, without taste, salad not fresh, soft fries and even the pitta were less tasty than in other resaurant. Service not really friendly, the servers were more interested by the football match... Price was OK but we don't advise it.

We went to this restaurant 3 times during 3 days, it was recommended by the hotel receptionist, as the restaurant was just meters away from the hotel. I was keen to have the 'giant bean stew' which became my favorite during our holidays in Greece. ( I am a vego ) We sat down enthusiastically, only to find out, they... More

We were on a walk-about from our hotel and found this gem. A great location for us. Excellent authentic Greek food. Fair prices and good service. GO!

By now you would have done the acropolis and Plaka restaurants...reach out to ambrosia and enjoy authentic Greek food at a much cheaper price and genuinely honest service....

We ate at Ambrosia several times during our visit and were delighted each time. The food is served outside with cooling fans providing just the right amount of breeze in hot weather. The staff is VERY polite and efficient. The food defies simple words. It is fantastic. I would eat here every day if I return to Athens.

This small restaurant was recommended to us as being good value, good food, not so many tourists. This was our first dinner after a long day of travel, and it was so great we went back several more times during the week! The food is fresh and plentiful and EXCELLENT prices. At different meals, we had the Greek salad, lamb,... More

This restaurant was a good choice close to our apartment. Traditional Gyros and seafood are the best. Is located next to the metro station Sygrpu-Fix. Highly reccomended.

While in Athens recently for a 3-day stay, we ate here twice, if that tells you anything. Another reviewer put it best... the place isn't exactly known for cheery staff, but the food is so good, it doesn't matter! The main waiter, who very well may be the owner (we couldn't tell, but he was there morning til night) is... More

The first night in Athens after two flights from the US and Munich, we were looking for a convenient restaurants that the locals frequent. Ambrosia was just perfect. Bottled water was immediately brought to the table, which many websites warn is brought and charged at a high fee to your bill. The water was large (2 liters), cold and cost... More

Don't come here to get your bottom kissed. For that type of service, check out the "Smile Cafe" which caters to tourists. This unpretentious taverna caters primarily to locals. My wife said "This is the best calamari fritti (squid) I've ever tasted." I really loved my roast lamb platter. Sure its just meat + potatoes but its delicious and cheap.... More
