We stumbled upon this Greek gem completely by accident. We were welcomed by a fantastic host and a very efficient waiter. The food was delicious, very authentic and the portion sizes were huge. Great value for money. the atmosphere was very local with two Greek singers, serenading us with traditional music. a Must try when in athens. Our favourite yet!

This restaurant is located along busy Adrianou St, that flanks the Agora. Food was good, especially the lamb, which was excellent. Wine was local but not impressive. Good deserts. Good value. Service was impressive.

A bit hard to find, but once we were there we were glad we came. We ordered the peppers and the spinach pie and for an entree we ordered the seafood platter for 2. You really do not need a first because the mains are quite large. You need a great greek coffee to get you going after such a... More

Good Greek food served in generous portions with live Greek music. Friendly efficient service. The only thing that irritates me about a few of the Greek restaurants we visited in Athens is that bottled water (and bread and dip in some instances) is put on the table when you arrive and is then charged for on the bill whether you... We just ate at Efxaris today and fell in love with it. First off, the gentleman that greets you are the entrance is hilarious. Sadly, we didn't catch his name but he looks like Vin Diesel. You can't miss him. He speaks 4 or 5 different languages and isn't pushy or rude, but invites people in with humor and respect.... More

After a long day of sight seeing, where the last stop was the Hadrian Library, we decided to go for a bite. Efcharis is a few steps away from the Library on the main road near Monastiraki square so we decided it to give it a try. The service and food were nice but nothing exceptional (the bar was set... Really nice place, near the Acropolis, well located, good enviroment with live music, good food and drinks. The waiters speak so many languages and they have a really complete menu.

My first night in Athens, right after I came from the airport. This came out as a nice surprise. Nice food, good music and a warm night in October! Only in Athens.

After taking the Red and Blue bus tour around Athens we enjoyed a fabulous walking tour around the Acropolis with Antigone our guide. Leaving us at Monastiraki Square we were in much need of refreshment and decided on the nearest restaurant to our drop off point at Hadrian's Library - the Efxaris restaurant. Great food - especially the meat balls... More
