We ordered the vibrant vegan pizza, falafel and a protein shake. Everything was so tasty! Also, the waiter was very kind. We're definitely going to visit Avocado again!

We were in Athens for work and desperate to find some nice vegan food. What a great surprise to find Avocado! We went twice and owner very friendly. Staff eager to explain food they were serving. Price moderate and good service. Good vibe, nice to eat sitting on the floor on low tables!

This place is such a find. The menu is so mouth-watering, it's hard to decide what to get. The owner is also on hand and making sure that everything is going well (but not in an overbearing sort of way - he stopped for a chat with us and was really lovely). We had the special starter of grilled edamame... More

We went on the basis of all of the good reviews. We had the cheese rolls in tomato sauce and the spinach tart to start, which were really nice. The burgers were tasty and were big. We had a bottle of Greek Sauvignon Blanc which was really very good. 2 starters, bottle of wine, 2 burgers, 2 coffees for €50...... More

I went with my girlfriend who is both vegetarian and lactose intolerant. We both felt that the food was absolutely fantastic, the atmosphere great and the staff the friendliest and most helpful we experienced in Greece.

I came here as first place to eat in Athens. menu is rather usual as for vegetarian restaurant, some burgers, lazanias and so one. Prices around 10€ per dish, not the cheapest place to eat. Nice staff. I've choosen Avocado burger that was good, taste of peanut butter and avocado was nice, served with fried sweet potato.

What a getaway from the "corny" tavernas... (some are lovely but it gets a bit boring). Service is fantastic. To start with, they bring you water and don't charge you outrageous prices for a glass or a bottle.. It's free!! And then, you can enjoy any other fab drink they have on the menu just to get a sample... I... More

A lovely place, with loads of choice and really great food. We couldn't finish everything, but our waiter boxed up the leftovers for us. It's not got the best atmosphere because it's so long and thin, but that definitely wouldn't put me off going back!

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
