We decided to visit Fresko on our first day in Athens after lunch and before our Segway tour. My wife and I both love Greek yogurt so we thought this would be a good and healthy dessert option. They serve three types of yogurt, original, thick and creamy and low fat. We both opted for the thick and creamy version... More

Rich and creamy greek yogurt with cherry and walnuts. Omg it was the perfect treat in 35 degree heat. And the girl inside was so helpful to explain everything and suggest. A large rich and creamy yogurt with cherry and walnut was $5.40 euros!

Try the sheep yogurt! It's tangy, rich and creamy...nice change from regular greek yogurt. Fresko has tons of really nice fresh toppings and they'll give you good advice on what goes well, what's authentic, and what fruit is in peak season as you order.

On the way to the temple of Olympian Zeus, we came across this bar. We ordered mandarin smoothie and greek yogurt with black cherries. The smoothie was refreshing but the yogurt was the star. It taste fresh, creamy and a tinge of sweetness. The environment was nicely decorated but the staff can be more friendly. The price is reasonable. Would... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
