Ok food, but price in the high end

Went there for the last day of our trip. The kids wanted pizza and they liked it, my wife and I ordered meat plate for two. The meat and bread tasted fine, but the fries was a bit boring. The price for this meal was the second highest for this trip, and we have eaten better other places.

Nice, open air restaurant/cafe'. Very friendly staff, especially a young girl whose name I never managed to find out. Only stopped for a plate of deep fried calamari - which were lovely and abundant. But entertained by a bunch of the cutest young cats playing in the area (and sharing my calamari lol) I ended up staying for a large... More

We had the feta in filo and the spanakopita to start. Both excellent. Followed by the neat platter for 2. Very tasty and so much meat! The wine was good The only negative for us was the waiters chasing the cats away (but we appreciate not everyone likes them).

During my recent visit to Athens we had an evening dinner out here are the Terina restaurant. The food was OK, the service was good and the ambience was enjoyable.

We bumbled into this terrific restaurant on a little back street in the Plaka. Wait staff was SO kind and laid back. The grilled squid came whole, sliced, and accompanied by yummy vegetables. The spanicopita was the best of our 9-day trip. Beer was inexpensive. We were so pleased to have found such a good place open late.

During the month of March 2015, visited Athens on a tour. Looking up various side streets around the Plaka area came across the Tepina Restaurant which appears to be part of the Terina Restaurant, except we were outside in the open air. The service was typical Greek style, relaxed, friendly and advising. The beer was good (all Aussies so we... More

We were strolling around the side streets looking for dinner we met the owner in the street who invited us in, after checking the menu we took him up on his offer. Our mistake. Service was ok not great or particularly friendly. Water and bread are 2 euros each. Main dishes were not particularly expensive we paid 8.50-9.50 for the... More

We enjoyed some appetizers and beverages here while relaxing for a bit on our stroll through the Plake. The hot appetizer plate was very tasty. The service was excellent. We would definitely stop here again.

We met the Owner in the street and he invited us in for Dinnr and Greek hospitality. I had fish of the day, grilled Dorado and my wife had moussaka and Greek salad . Both Made to perfection. Xlnt decor, smoking bar in the rear, WC downstairs, VG service and attentions. We would come back. Bit expensive but not bad.

Strolling around the side streets, looking for a bite to eat, Terina looked alright from the outside, although not mighty cheap. I opted for the wine leaves, stuffed with rice and mincemeat, plus Mythos beer on draught, at 5 euros seemed a bit steep. The staff all seemed polite enough, we didn't have to wait too long, the ambience was... More

Staying in Plaka

Neighborhood Profile
Plaka
Due to its proximity to the Acropolis, Plaka remains the area where the majority of foreign visitors stay and play. Its attractive features include small squares, some notable museums and the beautiful Mitropolis cathedral, as well as a host of places to stay, eat and drink. Its pedestrian zones make it a pleasant place to escape from the city’s notorious traffic. Adrianou and Kidathineon Streets contain a number of souvenir shops, offering classier items than you will find in the Flea Market. The most rewarding section to explore is the upper reaches towards the Acropolis itself, where many old stone houses with tiled roofs have survived. Up here you can find leafier corners and the odd quaint taverna with unobstructed views of the ancient rock.
