Good Greek food

I visited this location yesterday and had meatballs with sauces and rice. I also had the Greek donuts. I enjoyed my meal and the prices are reasonable. The donuts are very good. They give you more than enough

This place was great with a great value and wifi service. I would definitely recommend it! I had the chicken gyro and my friend had the spinach pie.

Super very friendly, nice white wine. Good food. Good service. Family own. We are four adults, our two children are adults and all of us love this place. We are from Southern California touring Europe for two weeks.

Ate here tonight 26/07/2015 on our first night in Athens. Family run restaurant, Great value for money (they currently have a 'crisis menu'), large portions and the food was really good too. Drinks are cheap also! Definitely recommend if your in the area, get the Chicken Gyros!

This is our first meal in Athens & on every street corner we saw a map or sign for Smile Restaurant. We gave it a go & got a Greek Salad, Chicken Kabab, bread, wine & a dessert (cake) for €9 (about £6.50. The food was great from this family run business. Well worth a visit & we might be... More

Very friendly family run restaurant. My daughter had double kebabs (minced lamb) in pitta which was huge for only €3 and I had a pork platter which is gyros (sliced meat). Delicious and I ate every last bite. I also tried a freddo espresso which is lovely if you enjoy coffee and want to try it cold. Bill was very... More

Ate dinner here tonight and thoroughly enjoyed both the food and the service. They have a vast menu, and also some 'meal deals'. For 12 euro, my meal came with bread, Greek salad (best I've had!!!), dolmades, dessert and a glass of wine. What a deal! We also ordered the loukoumades, Greek donut holes. They were to die for! Definitely... More

We stopped here for a beer and some gyros as we came down from Akropolis. Staff was very kind and helpful. Beer was cold! Gyros with pita bread was excellent!

Staying in Thissio / Makriyanni

Neighborhood Profile
Thissio / Makriyanni
Named after the well-preserved Thission (ancient temple of Hephaestus), Thissio is blessed with a small wooded park and some less frenetic streets that offer numerous quieter places to stay and eat. Largely pedestrianized Apostolou Pavlou Street runs between the Acropolis and forested Filopappou Hill, well worth climbing for more great panoramas, until it merges with Dionysiou Areopagitou Street. This leads to the up-and-coming area of Makriyanni, whose centerpiece is the magnificent new Acropolis Museum. Opposite the museum is the entrance to the southern slopes of the Acropolis, while the eponymous metro station nearby is at the top of Makriyanni Street, another strip of touristic cafés and restaurants.
